Gosh you guys have all been very busy! :T Go away for 3 weeks and takes 3 days to catch up with all the goings on! On a plus side whilst back in the UK I did and wrapped all the presents to leave with my mum to deliver and I also managed to write all the cards! Now I just need to get the stuff for our Christmas organised here and I am sorted, but putting it to one side till after Friday which is my DD's 2nd birthday!!
Cdsmiler - I voted for your daughter - such a cutie!!0 -
Me too! Along with trimming the tree this is my favourite bit of Christmas! Well done you on being so organised :T
I'm not making many gifts this year, family don't really appreciate the effort, they'd rather have dvd's!!!
Kids will make snowman soup and sweeties for school staff I think, anyone seen any nice cheap Christmassy mugs this year?
Tempted to make some nice gin for friends too, haven't got a clue where to start though, if anyone has any tried and tested recipes I would be very grateful?!!
Off out with dogs now, its a beautiful morning, kids back at school, will clean the kitchen later and write lots of updated lists!!!
The gin - can made same as flavoured vodkas, depending what takes your fancy, if your making fruit, remember to add sugar - really to taste, depending on the sweetness level, you can always add more sugar.
xxxx rip dad... we had our ups and downs but we’re always be family xx0 -
Really plzed my LLoyds order came today - the Hannah Montana photo album looks really fab for £2, and got the scooby photo albums, our neighbour facing he's 40 next yr, shes 30, so were doing the 40 + 30 box...... started his off with the scooby albums. Not sure about the mens toilettry set, my fault - didnt read properly and they came with golf ball cuff links, so thinking of splitting and doing something with it.
been v organised and wrote 25 letters (ok cheated and typed 1 - hit print x 25) the begging letters for the PTA xmas draw, so fingers crossed should get some replies back.

In November already!!
Right, here we go...
Susan - LOVE your makes! Love the snowman covered cadbury bars - wanted to cover some of those bars myself but couldn't decide on what I wanted. Might pinch the snowman idea if you don't mind??
elysia - glitter in vodka - it DOES sound lovely. Might be worth doing a little tester? What about that edible gold leaf?? Bit more expensive mind. lol But I'm SURE I've seen something similar - sparkly bits in alcohol....
Do show your memory wire bracelets!! I've just had a delivery of lovely mixes from JillyBeads - but I've run out of Memory Wire! lol Quick order done last night, and hopefully it'll be here tomorrow!! Duh....
Thank you for voting!!!
foxy - hope the kitchen isn't causing too much stress. Would drive me around the bend. I'd love to move out during something like that and come back once it's done! lol
toffeeapple and anyone else who'd ill, big hugs!!
Sugarspun - your broken Christmas cake!! I hope you gave hubby what for!!!!!! Thanks for voting- yeah, she has 6 teeth now!! They've flown through!!
esmer - your monkey is so CUTE!
Angela - yep, I'm jealous of your chocolate! lol

Willow - thank you for voting!Did it work in the end??
Legendmum - thank you for voting! Shall return the favour now!!!
Thank you too turn3r!!
Hubby showed me up this weekend - granted, I was working of sorts, and couldn't have done anything myself even if I wanted - but he's 95% finished his Chrsitmas shopping!!! I'm quite proud, but also annoyed he finished before me!! lol I'm almost done though - just waiting for some Amazon vouchers from greasypalm....
I need to check the chili jam, red onion chutney, and other bits I made soon - they're all at my parents house at the moment though. Hope they've ended up ok....
Anyone remember those gift packs for boys or girls that you could order for just P&p?? Well I've not seen any sight of the one I ordered and I can't for the life of me remember the company?! Any thoughts people??
Also, you were so good helping a friend of mine last week - my other friend has a 12 year old son (nearly 13) and he's only really interested in the xbox. He's also quite spoiled by his dad (but is still a lovely boy!) so doesn't really want for anything. She's no idea what to get him!! Any thoughts??
Big hello to anyone I missed!!!!

Hello everyone
1st November today which means when I look at my diary at work it shows Nov and Dec. In my head that means it's nearly Christmas!!
elysia - I use the lemon and lime curd recipe from Waitrose and it's always turned out really well. This is the link to it http://www.waitrose.com/recipe/Tangy_Lemon_and_Lime_Curd.aspx
Unwrapped my Christmas cake last night to feed it with brandy and found the bottle had been "hidden" on the top shelf and there was about 3 quarters of it missing!!! OH eventually owned up (even though it couldn't have been anyone else!) Honestly, you can't leave anything hanging about for more than 5 minutes or it gets eaten/drunk! Luckily there is still enough left for me to use (and it was only a small quart bottle so he doesn't have a drinking problem - just realised what that might have sounded like!!:rotfl:)
Am debating going to Harrods after work today - not very MSE I know but I have just got paid and thought I could get a couple of nice bits to go in hampers. Not sure yet though.
Hope everyone is having a nice day.0 -
