Halfcost have some reasonably good gifts for men, and free delivery all this week if you spend over £10. FF15 also gets you 10% off :money:

(I don't work for them, just like the site because it always seems to have what I need.)

    Good afternoon everyone

My 2 Slankets arrived yesterday. they need washing before using so had mine on for a bit last night and its now drying outside to freshen up and get rid of some fluff. it should do the job nicely and the other one is a present for christmas

What else? My Yankee candle teapot also arrived which is lovely for the kitchen for Christmas and the tarts smell lovely - Christmas Welcome and Sparkling Snow.

I have 2 cakes baking away in the oven - hoping they turn out good - crossing fingers with 3hrs to go

No chutney making today as need to do some studying now finished cleaning the house, only thing left to do today is bottle up the flavoured gin

Next weekend is the 2nd lot of cake baking and I'll see if I can fit in an evening of chutney making after work this week - beetroot and ginger which should take about an hour or so

  • Hi all, been absent for a while lurking on the grabbit boards :)

Managed to get some lovely items from asos really cheaply for presents and some lancome juicy tubes and eyeshadow from Boots effectively free, another few presents sorted hooray. A couple of other grabbits have sorted most of the childrens gifts except one who I have no idea what to buy her

What on earth do I buy a nine year old, who is very grown up for her age? She's OH's neice but I don't really know what she is into, last christmas amongst other things she was given a digital camera, we got her a diary and a baking set which looked like it didn't go down overly well. Ho-hum. Any ideas will be warmly received!

Only a few gifts to go, haven't bought for hubby yet, he has birthday and christmas in quick succession (gulp!)

On the bright side I finally gave in to ebay selling and made £50 clear profit after fees and postage on a couple of items lying around the house, surprised they wen't for so much.

Glad to see everyone is doing so well with being organised, with November coming round so quickly I'm starting to panic!!

Have you thought about getting her a handbag or some jewellery (sp) like bangles or earrings or perhaps even a watch Savvy?

My DD is exactly like that, she has just turned 9 and acts like 19! She was given her own hair straighteners for her bday from my friend which she was overjoyed about. Also she uses perfume which I just get from 99p store but it smells lovely and for a young girl they dont mind its not a brand. I also suggested to friends and family to get her a jewellery stand or maybe hair accessiories, makeup etc My sister got her a very grown up box of make up from boots on the 3 4 2. She now has much better make up than me :(

My cousin and his partner gave me a No7 makeup box when I was that age. I loved it.

My husband has put down a pile of stuff on my Christmas cake, which was on a tray and foil-wrapped because we didn't have a tin big enough. It's broken :(

Awww poor you Sugarspun for your broken cake - mine have about an hour to go and are looking good so far, just covered to top up.

I've bottled up the blackberry and apple gin to make 1 x750ml bottle and 2 x 350ml bottles and a little drop more. I was surprised at how much it made! It's maturing in the cupboard now ready for Christmas

Forgot to mention I made Nigella's Christmas muffins and they are delish! I'll be making some more later on closer to Christmas. Very easy and not very expensive too and very moist and tasty

    Hi everyone,

Well I'm back from week camping in newquay, had great time and windy, drizzly weather helped with choppy sea making for better body boarding.

Just taken 4 hours to catch up on everything on here, phew all been very busy it's great we're all getting on with this.
Thank you to mum2one and miss hoodie for this months challenges had quick look through, will have proper look tomorrow and work on what needs to be done! Definately in on the secret santa, will have a think about questions tonight and pm you.

Sorry to all who are unwell, recovering from ills. Well done to all craft bits your all getting up to and for the bargains your all finding, sorry i cant mention all names, just read 19 pages!

Will be going into town tomorrow to see any bargains i can find. Just ordered some stuff from halfcost, great bargains, two crafty gifts for dd and ds, also got 3 birthday gifts in advance for dd school friends parties I know are coming up just after xmas (normally run around like maniac, trying to find something, so very pleased with that.)

Hope you all had a great half term week and enjoy halloween tonight.
