Hya...you won't find Sevilles in the shops until January, but yes you can use other oranges (grapefruit, limes and lemons too). Try to get good flavoured ones with thick skins if you want lots of decent shred! Also, you need fruit with pips, as they hold loads of pectin to set the marmalade. I still have some sevilles in the freezer, left over from Jan 2010..I will use some for the scrummy sauce we have with duck over the Xmas period...mmmmm!! :D Still got loads of marmalade left...a few Xmas pressies methinks!!!

I am so impressed at how organised most of you all are...I am better than I normally am, present-making-wise. However, I have decided that I will have a stall in December at our local Playgroup, and need to make LOADS of stuff to sell there...I must be mad!! I have collected lots of my crafting stuff together and am trying to work out what else I need...been under the weather for the past 3 weeks, so things going slowly....and unable to get to the shops (except the online ones....and they are dangerous! :rotfl:).

I plan on sorting out my freezer some time
this week...still sufferring from nasty sinusitis and asthma, so not managing to get an awful lot done. I have been knitting as I can knit without my glasses (it hurts to wear them :()...unless I drop a stitch!! :o Sewing is difficult and painful, but I am slowly getting through my Xmas present list. Glad I am knittng as well as sewing though..not fit for much else atm. The stall stuff will get started as soon as I am able to wear my glasses for any length of time ;)....and get to the shops!

Was going up to Scotland this weekend to see my Dad for a week, but can't see that happening...just not well enough. I was going to be delivering the family presents then too. Thankfully I didn't make anything too big and bulky (and breakable!) to post later. Who knows, I still might manage up there before Xmas...but it's looking doubtful :(:(. Too committed to other things.

Thanks very much for all the Christmas lists and shortbread recipe, amazing how easy it is to forget the obvious items

Keiss, I hope you feel better, sounds like a nasty bout of sickness.

xrestrict - I can't remember if it was here or on the Edible Food for Xmas thread, but someone mentioned this jar of stuff you can buy, which you add sugar to and make marmalade. So would be ideal if the oranges weren't in season.

    I wrote 2 cards, feeling chuffed :) that I made a start.

Rusty flange - please could you stop all this unpleasantness. you had your reply and made your point. (Sorry that was a bit abrupt ) Can we drop it please and could you take your points through the proper chanels if you feel so strongly.

No one was was really harmed and as you said they are not your photos so like me in effect its nothing to do with us. If the ebay seller has an issue then surely its upto them to sort it out not you .

If someone copied my photos i would be flattered, I posted my labels on the crafting for christmas for all to share.

I asked you to keep it private, your welcome on this part of the forum whether you make one post or 100 `s of posts but please stick to the title, "organised for christmas."

Other forums close because of arguements and disputes, i personally would like to go back to how it was, one life we have, its a bit of fun to swop ideas, if the photos were copied, (i dont know) so what, they were not copyrighted. The ebay seller should take it up with the relevant people. I know people swop ideas, does that mean the original person who made the original thing is upset because we all make them.

Please ladies , gent . This is a christmas forum. Be friends . As most of us are.

If you have a problem, goto the board guides, theres no need for all this unpleasantness, none of us knows the true facts . But we`re just here for the fun and some very good friendships

And ladies, please remember, no personal comments please. BE NICE

    Morning Susan!

Well said - I think we should now draw a line under it and carry on as normal....

I am off to town in a bit (even in the rain!). I am going to see if I can get some of that M&S White choc and vanilla liquor for £2.49 - would go lovely in my aunt and uncles hamper. I had some in the summer (paid full price for it) and it is v.yummy!!!

I also want to look in the debenhams sale to see if I can pick up some PJ's for my sister and BIL's xmas eve hampers.

I shall report back any bargains I find!!!! :)

Hope everyone has a thoroughly organised day! :D

  • rusty- i was not meaning to cause offence to anyone just offering support to another person. i hadnt seen the original posts as they had already been removed and foolishly took what one person said to be true and offered light hearted support to encourage them to keep posting and enjoying the forums, nothing more

Thanks to all you other ladies for making me welcome but i will just read in future , upsetting anyone was never my intention
