    Hello all

I have had a rotten cold for the last week or so but now (the day before i go back to work) it has really hit me and i feel like utter poo!

I managed to get some bargains today :) (not xmassy ones mind!)

Chris moyles recent autobiography and Carol MCgriffins recent autobiography :) for 99p each at the Salvation Army Charity Shop :).
I also got a wooden bedside table (nice one) for £5.00 that was at the Barnado's charity shop (only needed it to prop the tv on at the end of my bed! :)

I have 2 separate £5.00 gift vouchers from boots for number 7 products only. Yet when I looked at the stand the cheapest a item was , was 6.44 !! And your not allowed to use 2 vouchers at once.. there is a list on the back of u can do this u can't do this ect...

Anyway off for some beechams and a book x

Ahh, I hope you feel better soon. I know the boots vouchers are good, but it's only a bargain if you need it! I used to throw them away but now I buy bits and peices for DD1's stocking. Perhaps you could buy some bits for your Mum like you wanted, and add them to her hamper! That way they would be extra cheap and she'll think you spent loads.

  • Hi everyone

Gosh, not been on for a few days and it looks like it's all been going on!

Welcome to esmer and xrestrictedx. This is a lovely forum, just reading everyone's posts makes me feel all Christmassy and has inspired me to start organising myself earlier this year!!

mum2one - thanks to you and Miss Hoodie for the challenge - I'd completely forgotten how far on in the month we were until I saw it! Will have a look through and see which bits I can be getting on with.

Toffeeapple - don't know if anyone else has already suggested this but I have seen those large cello cones for sale in shops filled with big colourful sweets like flying saucers and flumps etc. They look great and they wouldn't cost much to fill up and tie the top with ribbon. They probably charge a fortune for them in the shops too.

elysia - you make me laugh with your boxes! I seem to have one of those red cards from the postman every other day at the moment when I get home from work, then I have to get up at the crack of dawn to go and pick the parcel up. I wish my OH was a postie!! Every time he sees one of the cards he gets all excited and says "is that for me?" :rotfl:

susan - hope you had a nice weekend away

junior - bad news about the cold, being ill is so inconvenient! Hope you feel better soon.

Am going shopping tomorrow night after work with my sister - thank heavens for the Westfield open until 10! Hopefully will get her main present sorted and pick up a few bits for OH while he's not there. Have managed to get a white chocolate scented candle from eBay and some white hot chocolate from Whittard for my sister's white chocolate hamper. Also a couple of bath bombs from Lush which smelt really chocolatey, although to be honest I can't stay in there more than 5 minutes before my nose stops functioning properly - it's so smelly!! :eek:Will just get a few sweets and some Christmas white chocolate bits to go in it now like white toblerone and white lindt chocs, unless anyone has any other suggestions...?

    :)

No really dont excuse me.I need all the motivation I can get to clean, haha.Im usually too busy being interested in other stuff.
I have been guilty of leaving everything just to have a cuddle, lol. He is a good boy.Very hungry and up twice in the night every night. But easil feeds and changed and back to sleep.
Jewellery,I am waiting for some bits from ebay.Going to see if I can make 1 or 2 to sell.Safety pin bracelets are trendy at the mo.Can be made more elegant than imagined.
Must remember to take piccies of what I have done already.Ordered some things for xmas hamers. My mum and Mil are usually hard to pick for.So compiling a handmade bundle of pampering stuff. The tea for one,hot choc cone, slippers, facemask and coffeeor hotchoc from offer mentioned previously.Fingers crossed it goes well.First try at this, lol.

I am not going to comment on what everyones written having been away a week, I can see that we`re all cracking on for christmas. Well done ladies and gent

Thank you for mum2one and miss hoodie for the challenges.

Can I just say one thing though, this is a friendly forum, has been going for a long time not just this year and ALL are welcome, I personally dont care if you post the TATEs pictures , its all upto you, we all make similar things, we all go about it our own way, some people dont put pictures up, thats fine as well.
The only thing I object to is the person who comes on here and starts trouble, if you have an issue with a person, photograph or post, PM that person. (Giving them a chance to reply, bearing in mind some people go away and dont let on(me) because I dont want people to know my house is empty)

You do not have to publish it for all to see.

ToffeApple, please carry on as normal, is was lovely to see your doggies, I`m going to make some myself as I`ve seen your post.

And to the lady who`s objecting, please keep your arguments a little more private please. Thank you. As it causes bad feeling . None of us know the facts, but neither do we want to. Its not as if some ones been physically hurt.

Sorry mum2one about the rant, but this has to be the friendliest part of MSE and we `d like to keep it that way

Nothing to be sorry for, you have summed up everything that needs saying, couldn't pf put it better myself xx

Just about to get 1st set of xmas prezzies wrapped, away with Miss Hoodie, mum and dad, so we always do a present for the entertainers, the girls are having red bag set from book people offer, and a hand and foot pamper set from halfcost (got that in summer) 3 girls £4.00 each, the boys - there having a fish toilettry set - they were £5.99 each or 2 for £6.00 - so got the other for a spare.

Very quiet here, I've lost me voice!!! xx

I went off for a half hour lay down and a magazine and came back and you are all very chatty lol :).

I have only really discovered how good boots points are. Now when my mum buys any make up or perfume I offer to pick it up for her and always go to boots and get the points :) she doesn't have a card and barely uses boots so she isn't fussed lol. But I only have 164 points so going to use boots most the time (so long as things are on offer and cheaper then my usual places) and hopefully have money on the points card to spend towards next years birthdays from Sep and Xmas presents.

Does anyone else buy much from boots of use their boots points a lot?

Those beechums all in one tablets didn't help me , i am so head-achy and bunged up yuck. All the kids at work (i work in a nursery) are full of colds and bugs too , no matter how sterile you make the place how much you get the kids to wash there hands and wrap up warm nothing stops them getting colds then we get them :( tut lol. Sorry about that rant , i hate colds , can u guess?
