As a lurker I'd just like to say that I made mince pies on Sunday!!Enjoy the power and beauty of your youth. You will not understand the power and beauty of your youth until they've faded. But trust me, in 20 years, you'll look back at photos of yourself and recall in a way you can't grasp now how much possibility lay before you and how fabulous you really looked. You are not as fat as you imagine.0

Oooooooooooo thanks mum2one!! I can't find the cards you mention though (studio cards) - do you have a link so I can see the type of thing you mean and then I can search elsewhere??
THANK YOU!!

Ah - mine was from a few yrs ago, it came like a A4 size print, - had one the day you were born, then my mums maiden name - not as common as her married name.

rufusd!!!2 wrote: »Clare - a few years ago there was a free certificate you could get with things that happened on the day they were born, then it had the same year, then it had the same day but different years etc. I got one for my Dad and they just sent it via email to print myself but once I saw it I thought I could have done it myself so made one up the same for my OH's Mum. It was quite easy to do, had a nice font and centred everything going down the page and printed it out in dark brown ink on some creamy parchment like paper. I framed it in a cheap frame from poundland or somewhere. I got most of the info from Wikipedia but some of it from other sites, just kept putting in dates and whatever until I could find enough to fill an A4 page.
I have just done two crayon rolls so thats the little great niece and nephew sorted, had some crayons left over from when I made them before. Will get them both a xmas colouring book from 99p shop to with them.
I love the sound of that certificate, and esp you did one yourself, there a brilliant person present,
Just thought on the paper, if you can't get creamed parchment paper, to age a of paper - dried tea bag rubbed over it - and another version - use something like washing up bowl, pie dish, something that the paper fit in - water and coffee, lay the paper in.
Got to be nosey how did you do the crayon role sound fab xxxx rip dad... we had our ups and downs but we’re always be family xx0 -

Camcorder update - It is absolutely out of this world, so tiny fits into the palm of my hand....... and for £99.99 looks fab.
Added 50p plastic cultery set - so I could get the £10 voucher not £5.....
Thou sods law took it upstairs as Miss Hoodie had her friend over, then when her friend went she went upstairs - family tradation that all crowd on the bed to look at the shopping, but usually anything that gets hidden gets moved 1st. She beat us up there and opened the box, then she saw her bike lights (another argos bargain - and was over the moon with the lights, - she then put 2 + 2 together that shes got a bike for christmas. As we had said she doesn't need lights on this bike as she won't go out with them.......
The lights were £19.99 reduced to £14.99, used £10 voucher - they only cot £4.99 - very mse. xx
Can't believe were on page 200, were going great guns, thank you all.

Hello all :j
Well, few hours to myself today.......not many though.......:( Our lads course starts at 9.30am -home for lunch at 12.30pm............afternoon ends at 2pm !!! Oh well, a little is better than nothing except tomorrow he's not there as there's nothing for him to do apparently ! And I've got a house full of soc.services tomorrow at 10am........
Need to sweep the floor and general tidy up before then so popped on here now before I start.
Got few more pegs done...........think I've more pegs than people to give them to.............lol:rotfl:I'd only got 2 then OH found a box full this morning...............lol 8 done altogether now.
Clare - our lad goes to other carers when we're away...........same ones each time and he knows and likes them so he never minds going.
Well, off to see what else has been going on since yesterday. Starting to panic now with the christmas countdown................:eek:I would be unstoppable if only I could get started !

Found out last night that I cant go to the Craft show after all. Gutted really as been saving for months but there you go. Spent the afternoon on Ebay and bought some fabrics (for a change). I found an old magazine in the cupboard the other day with a lovely doll pattern in it so going to have a go at making some of them. Found some nice gingham fabric too to make clothes for them. Bought a piece of fabric with a Japanese theme in reds and blacks as well, hoping I can use it as a centre piece for a quilt for one of my sisters for next year as she likes oriental things. She is going to the Craft fair (lives near by it where as I dont and needed a lift, hence cant go now as other person isnt going) and said she will take some piccies for me if she sees anything that I might like. I told her to make sure she has a big memory card then lol. OH has said he will take me into the next town to the quilting shop tomorrow or Thursday so I can swoon over the fabrics and may be buy a couple of FQs (that will depend on whether OH is hanging over my shoulder seeing how much I am spending or not lol). Want some Xmas fabric anyway to finish the edging on my tablecloth as I have nearly finished the quilting.
Finished off making a couple of small quilts this morning that I had forgotten I had started, only needed the edging sewn round. They are to put away for whenever I get a stall, one in pinks and one in blue for laying a baby on the floor to play on or something similar.
Have made a shopping list of things to buy tomorrow if we get up the town as want to get some sweets, lips for Santa's kisses, choc raisins for reindeer poop and some white bonbons for pots of snow. Also want some small bars of chocolate that I can make new wrappers for.0
