My Lakeland order has arrived and I'm very pleased with the 49p boxes of plant food etc - more to add to the gardening hamper.
Hope mum likes this!final unsecured debt to repay currently £8333Proud to be Dealing With my DebtDFW Nerd 1154 Long Haul 1550 -
Been up the High Stret this afternoon, found these lovely glass jars in 99p store to put some sweets in for Xmas presents -
And then found this rather cute lunch box in same shop which I am hoping I can use to fit the Barbie Dolls clothes in that I am making
if they all fit it will look like a mini suitcase.
Had a bit of luck in Wilkinson's too, went to get a couple of rolls of wallpaper for the spare room and found some reduced to £2.63 a roll so managed to use some Love to Shop vouchers to pay for it. I can get a move on up there now when I get some free time.0 -
My halfcost order has arrived thanks to everyone who recommended them I know have a few bits for each of the girls for christmas:T:T
Just waiting for lakeland order now then need to decided what to put the gardening stuff into.
Oh and my big shot arrived but I am not well enough to play with it:( it took me all my energy just to open the boxStill hopefully the dr will give me something i thought it was the flu but as the days gone on I realised its not.
Rufusdog I love those jars:jmember of the thrifty gifty 2011 :j0 -

Last night I transfered my inventory to spreadsheet and totalled up the cost of what I had spent and what it should have cost....DH was amazed ...he cant stop telling people about it.....
Amount spent...£270 ish.......amount it should have come to......(drum roll) £1160 ish!!!
I am one happy bunny :j:j:j
Susan - Would it be a cheek if I asked for some of your cello??? I know I have only recently joined the thread......if you would like something for it.....let me how much xxNever buys anything at full price unless completely forced to do so!!! :whistle:0 -
Rufus you and I must have been doing the same thing at the same time today. I went to homebase and picked up paint for £15, then found some around the corner for less than 10, almost the same shade, so bought that, and a roll of lining paper, and then saw a half price floating shelf for £5. Decided it worked out free with the fiver off the paint. LOL. They had some lovely bits at half price for gardening hampers if anyone still needs anything. I loved the Laura Ashley trug - I thought it would have been more expensive but it was only £10 full price.
Have been shopping with OH today. The Works has fantastic books in at the moment. SA was putting them all out as we shopped. Kept coming up with suggestions, I usually hate that but this one was really helpful.
Went to asda and was going to post the bargains but Fedupand skint beat me to it.
There were a few odd bits in poundstretcher that were nice, I only bought candy canes for snowman soup though.
I got DD2, a barbie camera, a barbie mp3 player and Rescue pal toy (free) and then two micro pets and puppy in my pocket toy set (free) in the three for two at Argos. I also bought OH a new bathrobe, with the batman logo on was £39.99 reduced to £16.99. He hasn't grown up yet, so he'll like it (he's 57 bless him).
While we were there decided to get dd2 DSi for Christmas and New TV/DVD combi slimline telly for her birthday - A bit more modern than her Bratz big chunky thing. OH wants one for our room too, so he can have that for Chrimbo. Just need to buy them and that's my lot sorted. Just Mum, Dad, Stepdad and Sis to buy for now. Woopee - I'm nearly done! :A
Edited to add: OH a postie, he get's tips from his round. It's a brilliant help as it helps to go towards winter bills. When they work as a team they share the money out! OOH I've just had a thought, how about a lottery ticket each if you don't like giving them money. They might win a lot more.I :heartpuls M.S.E.Mortgage Free 18/01/10 13 years and 8 months early on a 20 year mortgage!

Was a little bored this lunchtime so decided to have a drive to a local shopping area I rarely visit. They have a huge boots, poundstretcher, home bargains and Asda. Was trying to get the compartment storage boxes from home Bargains, I got a few for my jewellery making from the local one a while ago and want some for sweets but my local had sold out, and so had this big one
Dont think I will be seeing these again.
Anyway dispite the thunderstorm putting me off my shopping a little I managed to get two 45l plastic storage boxes wiht a lid from Asda for £2.50 each down from £10! Bargain! I begrudge spending so much on storage boxes so was thrilled when i saw these. A woman even started talking to me when I was getting them and said Oh if you want those go to Home Bargains over there they have good offers on them if you are buying mroe than one. When I thanked her for her advice and said Im only getting these cause they are reduced to £2.50 she was like Ohhhh you wont get cheaper than that, and I could see her eyeing them up, reckon she got some too when I walked off haha I was tempted to buy more but I dont really need anymore at the minute.
Susan, if you wouldnt mind sending some of the cello my way I would much appreciate it too.
I dont seem to be getting survey invites to my email from Valued Opinions anymore, is this just me or is it a new system? Or have I accidentally changed a setting? Its just that I keep forgetting to check and when I do I have missed out on quite a few surveys!0 -
Still deciding about the pyrex sets - shall I or shan't I? Just thinking the bowls and roaster will come in handy at Christmas time when I'm cooking for the family. They looked a great size for family and large family meals in them.final unsecured debt to repay currently £8333Proud to be Dealing With my DebtDFW Nerd 1154 Long Haul 1550

Made my mind up - just had a look on Debenhams website for a price comparison and there is no comparison
Bowls set £6 Asda - Debenhams equivalent £16.50 for 3 separately sold same sizes
2 Roaster set £7 Asda - Debenhams equivalent £27
Lidded Storage £6 Asda - Debenhams equivalent £12
Buy all 3 from Asda - £19
Buy all eqivalent items separately from Debenhams - £55.50
Total saved - £36.50
Deffo decided now, plus, checked I have room in the cupboard and after Freecycling some stuff out of there I do:rotfl:

Hello all :j
fedup - somehow I knew you'd get that pyrex:rotfl: Hope you're feeling better.
piglet -welcome to the thread:T I'm sure christmas will be special for you and your children, no worries.
Welcome to any newbies I might have forgotten
Well I ventured into town this morning and did the charity shops -got myself a nice warm coat :j:j:j One of those Arctic Fleece ones, waterproof with fleece jacket inside that can be worn on its own..........£6.99 !! I've seen them on websited for about £30-40 ! So was well happy..........OH had to carry it home for me though.......felt it weighed a ton.
Got some really thin ribbon and finished off the bookmarks I've sort of 'concocted' from hairclips and some red thread to make some more stuffed fabric hearts for decoration (free fabric sampled came this morning.........:j) and while I was in help the aged I found a couple of mugs, one with Party Animal on it, the other Hot Lips.........just the thing for teenage grandchildren ! Had a look in our new sweet shop..........lot of stuff in there and saw something called Choc Lic...........sort of like a Shebert dip we had years ago but chocolate. Might get some of that for the grandchildren as well another day.
So, not a bad day all in all.............:jI would be unstoppable if only I could get started !
