Acrually managed to get on the sewing machine yesterday, have done all the machine sewing on the barbie clothes now, they just need finishing off by hand. Still on the lookout for something to put them all in once finished, I might have a look in 99p stores today and see if they still have their large plastic boxes with a lid as think one of them would be ideal. They might even have some barbie stickers, I am sure I saw some somwhere.0

Well last night after reading how organised you all are I sat down and realised that I have bought for all the children I am buying for but 1! Excluding my son who I will keep picking up bits and pieces for a little longer! And now only have adults to do! This is the most organised I have ever been! I keep reminding myself its only September otherwise I will be up the attic getting the tree down before Halloween! Just gotta sort this hamper for the inlaws now but am very wary about making anything foody as am not Delia and my 2 year old keeps me busy! Anything that I can make that needs very little input from me will be great!!! This thread is great but with 178 pages I am afraid I am way behind most of you!!!:xmassmile**New** Thrifty Gifty Money Making for Christmas and all occasions 2012**:xmassmileMember No. 11 of Happy Chappy's Clip Strip Club!

Hello
Pipsmum - hope your grandad gets better soon
Susan42 - thanks so much for the parcel, it came yesterday!
Welcome to all the newbies.
Weather in London is starting to turn bad now, we've had some lovely days of sunshine this week but today it is grey and rainy. We had an email at work about Christmas holiday entitlement yesterday so I started to get a bit excited... It's October next week, the time is going by so quickly.
Am going to the scrapbooking fair at Alexandra Palace this weekend to look out for some Christmas crafty bits. OH is doing my head in - keeps changing his mind every 10 seconds about what he wants for Christmas, good job I haven't actually bought him anything yet!0 -
Very random question but what do I get the bin men??? They are absolutely great with DS who waves out the window every Thursday morning and they all wave and beep and make an effort! Think there are 4 of them so do I get 4 presents? A tin of chocs or some beer? Thoughts are welcome!:xmassmile**New** Thrifty Gifty Money Making for Christmas and all occasions 2012**:xmassmileMember No. 11 of Happy Chappy's Clip Strip Club!

Hi, do you mind if I join in? Im trying to be a lot more organised this year. Ive been lurking here for a few weeks and its spurred me into action.
I have DD(5) and DS (3) and im expecting number 3 in April. So I want to get stuff early so I can start putting money by for new bubs.
So far Ive bought DS a Buzz lightyear, the £20 from Disney store one., some books and I picked up a Bucket o Soldiers (from Toy story) for £7, usually £12 in Asda as the outside plastic was damaged slightly.
Ive got a stash under my bed from the Boots sale that I use for my 2 BIL's and my SIL.
Most of my shopping is on paper at the moment, which is a lot more organised than usual.
Im also going to dig out our Christmas elf (Elvis Mc Tumshie) who arrived last year on 1st of Dec and got up to all sorts of mischief but really helped getting the kids to behave. So am getting more organised this year so we can have more ideas and different activities for the kids to do in Dec.
I did xmas eve hampers last year with pj's, popcorn, dvd, raindeer food, magic Santa key and a plate from poundland for leaving a mince pie for Santa. Going to do the same this year.
sorry that was quite long. Im just excited to be allowed to talk about Christmas as I get shot down if I mention it at home lol:santa2::xmastree::santa2:0 -

My Mum used to give our bin men a few beers, usually 3 or 4 each, But im not sure if they are allowed to accept anything like that anymore. I would nip out and ask one if them one day.:santa2::xmastree::santa2:0 -
Well I'm confused - thought I posted early evening saying where you could get edible glitter from, but it's ok as elysia answered. Really weird!
Elysia - thanks for the bath toy recommendation!
NickyBo - love the octopus! Thank you!
Pips Mum - lots of love to you and your grandad!!
mum2one - looking forward to seeing Miss Hoodie's jewellery! Yes, my parcels were bits to make jewellery! But the 'starter kit', although it came with wire cutters, pliars, lots of fixings etc, it also came with a bag of stone beads. All natural stones but not very much good for anything. Was waiting for it to come before ordering anything else so now I can't really make anything until I order some decent beads and bits and bobs.
Piglet - welcome! I joined around about now last year and I was more than organised (with baby due mid December too!!!). The Xmas eve hampers are fab ideas, and I'm sure you'll find plenty of ither ideas on here too!
Welcome to other newbies too!
susan - if it's not too cheeky, I'd love some of the cellophane. I bought some last year with little father christmasses on as we were doing quite a few hampers and used it all up. Not doing many hampers this year, but a little would be wonderful. Let me know if you want a donation! More than happy to give.
Legendmum - know what you mean, we have a FAB postman. Well, used to. His round has been changed and the guy we've had instead is useless. Our nice one goes out of his way completely - above and beyond. Joy of joys he's doing our round again this week!! Yeay! But dunno how long for...Anyway, why not bake something nice for the bin men? Cookies, shortbread, a cake...personal but something they can share. I'm sure they'd appreciate it.

Susan can I be even cheekier and ask for some cellophane too! Really naughty of me as I a Newbie on here!
Cdsmiler thanks thats a good idea can get my son involved in that and can put some of whatever it is I make in the in laws hamper!
Nic I will ask them a bit closer as they may think I am mad if I do it now, plus they come VERY early so will have to get changed and put my face on otherwise I may scare them!
On another note this thread is addictive and I am now planning on doing reindeer food and even looking at snowman soup!!!! I only came on with the intention a doing 1 hamper now im planning more than ever!!!:xmassmile**New** Thrifty Gifty Money Making for Christmas and all occasions 2012**:xmassmileMember No. 11 of Happy Chappy's Clip Strip Club!

Just when I thought I was feeling better and today I feel dreadful. Never mind it will go soon, hopefully!
Had to go out for some shopping and called in at Asda. Bought the tin set recommended by someone (Clare or elysia???) thank you they will do for the seed packets presents and for the little garden equipment too and one or 2 for me
Had to talk myself out of buying a few things as I'm not sure if I need these things or not - thought I'd pop them on here in case they come in handy for kitchen hampers you're making
Pryex 2 large roasters £7 down from £10
Lidded Pryex roaster/fridge storage £4 down from £6 and cheaper than the smalller version
Set of 3 Pryex bowls 2L to 0.5L I think are the sizes
Asda Rice cooker £7 from £18 odd
Asda Slow Cooker £7 reduced from a price I can't remember
I was tempted by the glass roasters, the bowl set and the lidded roaster dish and the rice cooker but as I live onmy own thought it was a bit daft to buy the rice cooker, think it would be good for a family
Not sure if this is nationwide however it was in store - hope it helps someone!final unsecured debt to repay currently £8333Proud to be Dealing With my DebtDFW Nerd 1154 Long Haul 1550
