Hi all,
Been to wales for a couple of days and had a fab time!! I went to a carboot yesterday and managed to get baskets for each person I'm making a christmas basket for - they are lovely and in all different sizes and only 50 p each and I got one free - now I can start making them up!! Hurray!!
I also sorted my dads fathers day present out - I had planned for him to go to the war exhibitiion at east lancs railway but he had plans for both days already... However when in wales I came accross a place that sold locally produced honey - he loves honey so got him 2 jars which I know he'll love. May need to ge thim something else too but at least i've got him somethign thoughtful that i know he'll like.
I've also picked up a tesco smelly candle in a glass jar - really nice with the tag on for £1 ( think theyre about £6 - 7 in tesco at mo) so this can go in the chrsitmas basket for my sister in law..
Need to start work on OH presents as he is always the most expensive to buy for... Have made a list - jsut need to find space when hes not around to order / shop for..
Hope you all ok... will try and get a bit further with things this weekend..

Hi all
Clare here is a video of the cake made entirely from sweets

There is another type called a Pinato where you have sweets and toys inside a cake that has to be broken as it has a hard outer shell from chocolate. There are lots of variations on this which you will see if you do a search on the name. Some people make the inside purely of sweets built up in layers, not in the way that is shown in the link below.

Well, today started off on a 'down' note with our old cat having to be put to sleep..........poor soul was 17 and had got to the stage where her kidneys were failing and the vet said there was nothing could be done for her -we knew that really from previous cats we've had.
Still, at least now she's at peace and we've still got the other two younger ones. Can't be without my cats.
Sorry to hear about your cat Mary, sending you lots of hugs.Making money for Christmas 2012!0 -
Hello all :j
Thanks for the kind thoughts about my cat:o
Well been to GP yet again about ears and back..........been given yet another lot of ear drops and some more anti-inflammatory pills...........they haven't worked so dont know why he's given me more. I did protest a bit -well a lot really - so now he's referring me to physio for my back thank goodness. Hopefully it'll do the trick.
Bought a few bits for grandsons cooking birthday box then set to to do his 'sweet no cake cake'. Not sure I'll be doing that again................lol Number of times the marshmallows fell off..........:rotfl:Then OH came in and said how good it looked..............wish I taken a photo now.
Angela -thanks for those links..........wish I could do something like that. Mine looks ever so 'make shift' by comparison.
Oh eck..........only just logged on and dinners ready...............lolI would be unstoppable if only I could get started !

Hello all :j
Clare - is that what it is - madness ??? And there was me thinking it was some kind of illness ...........lol:rotfl:
We can't be that barmy surely........had a visitor this afternoon I hadn't seen since before christmas and I'd sent her a bag of allsorts of 'stuff' - post it note key ring, post it notebook with pen, peg with magnet on and flower......she loved it all :T So we can't be that bad can we ?

Managed to get my plastic tub covered before my visitor arrived so thats all ready now -next thing is to do one of these 'no cake cakes'..............off to look up instructions again....................lol:rotfl:

I have bought the retro sweets today to make a sweetie bouquet for my sister, to go with her presents. Hopefully it will turn out as nice as the one on Jamtarts blog.
Wow that is brilliant, you'd pay about £20 at least for one like that in the shops. xxxx rip dad... we had our ups and downs but we’re always be family xx0 -

DD just poked her head round, can I have one......xx rip dad... we had our ups and downs but we’re always be family xx0 -
LOL. Sis really loved it. It looked almost identical to Jammies, only I'd also put cello around it and tied it with a ribbon. She laughed her head off - she's not a flowers sort of girl but she thought this sweetie bouquet was absolutely brilliant!!! She has taken a photo to show her mates. :beer:I :heartpuls M.S.E.
