that cake is fantastic cdsmiler. you are very talented indeed. I wish I could do something like that.

I'm having a really busy time at the minute my SIL is doing her GCSEs shortly and has been needing help with trying to sort out what shes going to do after them and I'm trying to study for my tax exams in May although at the minute every little thing is distracting me (including keeping up on here).

I will keep a note of the challenges for when I get a few minutes to myself. Might take a day or two at Easter and try and sort a few things out so it won't all get on top of me. eeeek

think there definately needs to be more than 24 hours in a day at the minute.

I have finshed my son's quilt now, will take a photo later on or tomorrow as think my batteries are a bit low in the camera. Its not as big as the other two last ones I did as I want it for them to use in the living room instead of on the bed, like a throw for the back of the sofa or something.

I ordered a soldier toy off Amazon for my Grandson for his birthday yesterday as he is mad on army things. It was one of their deals of the week and was reduced from £14.99 to £4.56. Now I just have my Grandaughter to sort out (August) and that is all the birthdays done for this year.

    Hello all :j
I am late today............not even been that busy -well having said that I've been sorting through photos and stuff for my sons and grandkids scrapbooks I want to do for christmas............then realised its a friends birthday in a weeks time:eek: I'd forgotten............panic about what to get her so had a forage among my stuff and decided on a button necklace(mums buttons so cost me nothing) and a chunky bracelet (50p), chunky bracelet was 50p, popped them into a little gold voile bag that foster daughter gave me...........I'd already for 'Now we are Sixty' book -50p so wrapped it all up in some paper I rescued from bunch of flowers OH got me few weeks back and tied with lace (my other friend gave me a bundle of ribbon and lace at christmas)............I was so thrilled the whole pressie only cost £1 !!!!:j

Really must get other sons Easter box wrapped and posted ............it's sat there looking at me all week ;)
(along with a lot of other things............:rotfl:)
I would be unstoppable if only I could get started !

Thanks ladies. The book part turned out really well, but the blue icing was a pain to colour and weird to work with! But like I say, the book bit worked out ok. Not happy with the trimmings on the book and the worm wasn't great, but hey! First time! I like his hat though...! Oh and my Mum loved it. :)

Semi productive day - got some bits sorted for our paranormal group's AGM this weekend, so was at parents printing and sorting while my mum babysat Bethan (who was an angel). Know the feeling about there not being enough hours in the day!!

    Good morning all

cdsmiler - what a fantastic cake, no wonder your mum loved it.

I was feeling inspired yesterday, so went to Post Office and got myself a large notebook.

At front have sorted out sheets showing credit card amounts owing, catalogues and daily spending and incoming etc., which I am going to fill in each day, update weekly and hopefully see amounts owing goiing down each month.

At the back I have pages for Christmas 2010 with names of everyone I need presents for, and am going to try and look at getting 2 or 3 presents ticked off each month.

Also wish lists for what I would like to have done by year end.

It definitely feels good to be pro-active regarding finances, and so happy I found this site, with so many great ideas and friendly people.
