Mary, I have a PAYG mobile with Vodafone and it has a buffer zone on it (which they had offered me) of £2, so I won't run out of credit at an awkward time - it costs about 31p the next time you top up, but worth it in my opinion to stop you from getting caught out. hth

Jane - thanks. At least if I have a pay as you go it might save me a few quid a month........current contract is about £22 a month including calls and texts but sometime I don't use all the free time I have.
I would be unstoppable if only I could get started !

susan - I don't like those 'senior' ones either..........why can't they bring back some of the earlier styles, ones that I could hold without risk of dropping and they had buttons, proper push buttons so I didn't miss and get a different letter or number ?
Still haven't decided what to do..............and OH is no help - he hates them. Have to be vodafone but just which one ?

I think you mean wadding! I got some in Hobbycraft for about £1.59 a metre, and Dunelm Mill also sell it, but cheaper than that, can't remember how much off hand. The price varies depending on how thick it is.

If you're just starting out quilting, why not use a fleece blanket on the back to start with? I got one in Asda for £2 and backed a lap quilt with it.

Hope this helps. I'm no expert by any means, but I've finished one quilt, have another one ready basted to quilt, and another top pieced and waiting to be basted and quilted. If you've any questions I'm sure someone on here will be able to answer them for you.

I'm having one of my brain box moments... I know were still doing Febs challenges (yes little Miss Hoodie with her cleaning).

But as the next ocassion we've got coming up is Mothers Day, I'm doing a trial run next week, when Miss Hoodie has her sleep over, should work! All will be explained in Santas Challenge

We're doing ours for nana's for mother day, great present off a child, (not expensive)

If you can save a small box, something similar size to - The cappicuno / mocha type boxes,

Some wrapping paper, or google a pattern (do that say get 3 pieces same to be on safe side, just A4 size - doesn't have to be fancy, just what you like)

A small photo of your child, or a scene or what you like... when we use it be a maximum 3in x 3in size.

    For the finished item
    Pen
    Pencil
    mini note pad

    xxxx
It make sense in the end (promise) xx
