Tesco no show for pre christmas shop

Just had to call tesco to ask where my delivery was - should have arrived by 3.00, to be told it had been cancelled due to the snow - so anyone on the south coast expecting tesco deliveries today might want to call - also, I can have delivery rearranged but only for after christmas!! - Looks like I'm going to have to brace the crowds after all

They didn't want to put any van drivers at risk so have been cancelling some deliveries since Friday. The supermarkets have been fairly quiet as a consequence of the weather.A minute at the till, a lifetime on the bill.
Nothing tastes as good as being slim feels.

Can not really blame them. Highways agency are putting warnings out all over the country.
This country is rubbish with dealing with snow. You would think it had never happened before. If you find you are drinking too much give this number a call. 0845 769 75550 -
It's quite annoying how Tesco never ring to tell you they're not coming though, they have done this to me before. Ocado always ring to let you know (but they are so expensive!).0

I completely agree with both sentiments in this quote, but it would have been more appropriate for Tesco to ring to say they were cancelling the delivery rather than wait for the customer to ring to find out where it was."A cat can have kittens in the oven, but that don't make them biscuits." - Mary Cooper

We are due our delivery tomorrow afternoon, was going to suggest me meeting them on the main road and i would carry it up the steps but was told it would be ok....hhhmmmm i can see 1 stuck van tomorrow....and some very unhappy sainsburys customers after me if the do deliver.0

I had a Tescos delivery on Friday which I thought might be canceled because the roads are pretty bad, but nope it was delivered although the driver bless him didn't want to risk bringing the van up the hill to our house so he brought the delivery up on foot which would have been a good 5-8 minute walk before snow and ice.0

You've got Sainsbury, Tesco, Asda, Aldi, at least two Co-ops that I can think of, Netto and Lidl within spitting distance, plus Morrisons if you fancy a trip over to Leighton Buzzard (I wouldn't in this weather)!! And I seriously wouldn't call our Asda crappy!!
I'm hoping Tesco will deliver to me tomorrow (I can see the store from my back door, but can't bear shopping in there at the best of times), but the side roads round us are really bad.0 -
I'm guessing that lots of people could be in the position of no deliveries given the weather. I completely understand why Tesco would not send out drivers in poor conditions.
It would be a nice gesture though if they offered customers who had already ordered the option to have their order picked in store and charged to their card ready for the customer to collect it. That way people could avoid the madness of the store (which I think is why most people opt for home delivery) without risking the safety of the drivers. I'm sure most customers would probably pay half the delivery charge for having it picked for them - win, win all round?
Maybe an enterprising Tesco manager is reading this.........................0
