quick update- maysdaddy has officially fallen off the wagon!!! So i'm doing the challenge alone now but keeping up. Plus, he's borrowed a tenner off me today as well!!
Broomstick, that's just what we do too- cash only and when it's gone, it's gone (hence the scabbing a tenner off me today)0 -
I try with the take the money out and that's it for the week idea but it doesn't go too well. I've been to the cashpoint 3 times today AND paid for the Tesco shopping with my debit card because i'd already nearly ran out of money again. We only went in cheap shops today, I don't understand where it went0

might this help?
take your cash out on the day you visit Mr T/Mr M/Mr Waitrose or whatever.Put aside essentials like Kid's bus fares, dinner money etc. Spend what you need-the rest is the week's spending money.
It really does make you feel differently about whether you really need jasmine rice/a plug in air freshener or whatever. I resisted a scented candle thsi week as I would really rather have £5 in my purse.

I think i do need a 'proper' budgeting system, although todays buys were mainly one-offs (almost all potty training related - easy to get up/down bottoms, stickers, reward for being so amazing and filling 3 charts in week) Lunch maybe wasn't so neccessary though. I'm, fingers crossed, getting my own flat soon so i'll need to cut back properly and live within my means a bit better. I had a provisional offer for a council place at the start of Dec; People who think it's easy getting a council place are so wrong, I fit the single teenage parent stereotype brilliantly and it's took 3 yrs to get this far, well maybe not quiet so brilliantly since I work and am studying for a degree.
Anyway, life story over, back to the pound coins...0 -
Took a tenner out of cash point and spent some on a latte and some on car park fees which I will claim back. Got £3 left so put it in my tin. Wooo hooo. I'm catching up slowly but surely. Hubby came home from working away in Liverpool tonight with scrit all in his pockets. Methinks he's spent it on his long haired lover.... :rotfl:0

Hello Everyone, I`m a total `newbie` to your forums but am really interested in the challenges you have set yourselves. Where can I find out more info on them or can someone point me in the right direction on here? Thank you.0
