    Hi Lula,
I did buy a 100% wool cardigan & a brushed cotton blouse in M&S reductions (£18 instead of £60) BUT no money changed hands as I returned several December sale 'mistakes'. So, still no money spent :D
I can cook and sew, make flowers grow.

Also, I've realised that I may well replace one vice with another so I'm off to find the thread about not buying unnecessary toiletries.

Just to make sure you find it there is the 100 day challenge link below. Lots of people tackle buying unnecessary toiletries but you can give up buying anything for the 100 days!

I've still not bought any clothes. The only thing I'm looking out for is a skirt to match a suit I got in sales. I'm hoping to find the perfect one at a bargain price!
The plan is that when I have the urge to shop and can't resist it I have something so difficult and specific to buy that it keeps me focused and stops me splurging!!

  • Was cold in work today, so I spent £8 on a fleece in Primark. However, my sock was wet walking through the snow, got a hole in my shoe! Feel another spend coming on!
    Debt at 1/1/11 £7,049.75, now £6,682.12 at 9/3/11

Oooh luxor4t - you are a cunning & canny shopper  - can tell you've done this before :D

piratefairy - nobody likes a showoff :p:D & dont be corrupting my carefully selected band of converts please, they are going to achieve great things this year :j

Miss_Marple thanks for that fab tip about having a 'clothes challenge' page in your book. I have a fab Big Pink Book where I list all my spends, NSDs & CC payments, but I've never had a page just for the Clothes Challenge in it

    * runs off to start one immediately* ... then

*runs back to welcome newcomers jasmine lotus flower & franby64 :hello:
& say Happy New Clothes :) to loopychriss & Noselfdiscipline *

I wouldnt normally be here at this time but school closed, couldnt get to work & Brownies cancelled

Off to amend the front page ...

ps - Jewelleryfan - you are now getting the whole idea of this challenge :)

    Well done !

The list of items you 'need' to buy is pretty identical to what I bought last year ( aside from all the items that dont count of course ;)

    Thanks Lula :D

I think since joining this challenge, finding ways of saving money and having NSD's is definitely helping me spend less and realise what i do and dont need.

It makes me use and appreciate what i have already ;)

Not spent a penny on clothes so far this year, hoping to get most of the things I need from vouchers I'll be receiving for birthday on Sunday (fingers crossed), or as gifts from my mum as I drop down the sizes, as its back to Weight Watchers next week.
    Debt free 11/05/11!

    Savings £4000/ £300
