Morning everyone, I am up and about although not sure if I am fully awake..lol. I have been up since 6am too although I have been busy - I have put one load of washing on, washed up early breakfast things, wiped down the work tops in the kitchen and considered moving around one of the things on the big worktop - I want to move the microwave to t'other end of worktop to see if it gives me any more room..lol

I can't believe after all the snow/ice etc the past few days they are forecasting a temp of 7 degs today..ugh how is that possible? Especially as they are giving warnings of ice and black ice etc on the roads..hmmm!! Daft weather we are having.. Now I have to turn the rads down later..lol

Thank you to everyone for all my cards which have just arrived, they are all gorgeous - and special thank you to L-L for sorting them all out and posting to everyone. You are an :A

Jassa congratutions on being debt free, what a lovely christmas present :D
Rose hope you are feeling better today and that you can get some financial help from the DSS in the form of the crisis loan. Hopefully this will alleviate things for you until you get back on your feet. *hugs*
Dusty ironing the school uniform already..eeeps!!! Fancy doing my ironing..lol
Boddy congratulations on the weight loss :)
Greenbee love the sound of the truffles, might make the ginger ones later..mmmm!! Also safe travelling later, let us know you have arrived safe and sound otherwise we will all fret about you. :D
Pigpen hope you aren't in too much pain from your tumble hon. Have a pj day today and let others do the work and spoil you - you deserve it for keeping it all together for them this year. *gentle hugs*
Well done to Soappies BG man for getting her boiler up and running..hopefully it will last you through to the new year hon.
Congrats juliejim on your win, what a lovely surprise and at Christmas too :D
Prettypennies I did the exact same thing with our beef rib join, got a lovely one at the beginning of December from Costco but totally forgot I had placed an order from my veg box deliverer..doh!! Thank gods DH and I both like rib of beef..lol
Yikes Kazwookie that sounds like you went back in time to visit Gt Grandma but does sound a wonderful experience apart from the flies/dust and other general icky bits..lol

Well I am going to have a lovely day today I think. I have to get dressed in a min and then head off to Asda to see what food they have in so that I can get the christmas bits. I have my list all written and waiting in my purse so that I don't go mad and impulse buy. I also need to pop to Aldi and Iceland as well - might treat myself to a fry up breakfast in Mr S on the way past as it's Christmas.. :D

Want to cook Delias red cabbage receipe today so that I can freeze it for the weekend. Also want to bake the mince pies and have a go at that Tescos white chocolate and cranberry fudge receipe. I got some lovely cranberries, dried cherries and dried blueberries while I was in Waitrose at Bluewater so would like to make some different versions. Hoping that Dh likes them..lol Think it would be advisable to make a small batch to see if he likes them..lol

Also got some more wrapping to do and then I think that's it. Oh and of course the ironing..lol.

Ooh which reminds me must contact my neigbour down the road and check what time they are going to get to us tomorrow evening for pizza and wine.

    Morning.

Spent yesterday food shopping and present shopping. But it's still all on the kitchen floor and dining room table.:eek: Except for fridge and freezer stuff of course.

Got to whizz out this morning and do a couple of bits then I'll be back to fly with a vengance. Famous last words!!:rotfl:Then I'm going to go and get any last minute bits, as tomorrow I'm having to do the present run, collect Miss Ta
    g. Plus it's her birthday so I need bits for that:eek: Nothing like a bit of pressure then. I do it every year!!

I haven't caught up with the thread from yesterday so hugs etc where needed.

If it's not there it's been done or doesn't need doing......:D

Thanks for the ideas folks. I'll see what I can get this afternoon. I do have some salmon steaks in the freezer if all else fails so could cook them (or even smoke them!) up and mix with philly etc.

    Deleted what I've done, plus,

Living room is looking fab! Even swept, be proud:p Also txted landlord (found OH moby, so stole the number), reset my internet banking coz I wiped it earlier in the week and took all the pots to the kitchen. Oh, got all my binbags out and dragged the bin to the end of my path, still so much snow! Suppose I better go and do the pots since I've also heated the water...

    Hi all
    Hope everyone is OK?

Not sure what has happened over the last 24 hours but a sense of calm has descended...I suddenly feel in control of it all....

Right, here's what I did yesterday:

    Tuesday - Time's nearly up!!!
    1. [STRIKE]Children... quick.. tidy your rooms you don't want Santa thinking you don't look after your stuff.. he might not leave any presents![/STRIKE]
    2. Iron yesterdays wash mountain
    3. Vacuum through downstairs.. and the stairs!
    4. Mop the kitchen floor!
    5. [STRIKE]Get rid of the washing up.. delegation is good![/STRIKE] delegated to the dishwasher!
    6. [STRIKE]get out any special christmas crockery and make sur eit is all clean and nice to use.. placemats etc too![/STRIKE]
    7. [STRIKE]Prepare a list for that last second shopping[/STRIKE]
    8. Declutter your desk.. if it is anything like mine it is full of receipts and invoices!

    10. [STRIKE]Toy boxes can be banished upstairs![/STRIKE] Except the baby's - he doesn't have his own room yet.
    11. Wash any soft furnishings in need of freshening up Not doing this - no way of drying them.
    12. [STRIKE]Tidy up coats and shoes and suchlike[/STRIKE]
    13. WRAP WRAP WRAP! OH's left to do...
    14. [STRIKE]Make a note of when the binmen are coming!!![/STRIKE]
    15. [STRIKE]Spend half an hour doing NOTHING!!.. absolutely nothing!!!! Just sit.. and relax with a drink and a treat![/STRIKE] Watched Heston Blumenthal on More 4....
Plus I iced cakes, made pastry, sorted library books, did final loads of washing and hung them on the airer to dry, sorted the turkey (it's still thawing, but in the fridge now), and delivered my nephew's presents. Not to mention yet another trip to the post office to send off an Amazon sale.

And here's what I'm doing today:

    Wednesday Mayhem..
    1. [STRIKE]Make sure you have all the shopping you need to take you through to next week.. milk and bread especially![/STRIKE]
    2. Make sure the remaining presents are wrapped I will not have people sitting up while 5am on Christmas morning wrapping! As above, OH's left.

    5. mop the bathroom/s and loo's
    6. Clean the bath and shower and loo!

    10. [STRIKE]Catch up on the laundry again.. ironing is tomorrows job![/STRIKE]
    11. [STRIKE]Phone someone you 'forgot' to post a card to in time.. just so they know you've not forgotten them... [/STRIKE]
    12. Spend at least half an hour doing something for yourself.. reading.. relaxing.. goggling... remember you are important too. Looking forward to this....
    13. Vacuum the whole of the upstairs! OH did this on Monday, but might quickly do it again.
    14. wash windows through the whole downstairs if needed NOT NEEDED!!!
    15. do a crazy HHC decluttering downstairs
Phew...and I've got another present run to do - seeing my father and stepmother today - the dreaded supermarket shop, and we need to buy some wine too. We got a free case from Virgin Wines when we switched energy providers, but quite honestly it is really bad wine....almost undrinkable (notice I said 'almost' :p). We contacted them, but they weren't interested - asked us to send the wine back (at our own expense) so that they could give us a credit voucher. Not bloomin' likely! At least the red mulls nicely....

Right, littleys are up, I've got to be gone in around an hour, so see you all later!
    Have a good day
    Take care

The kids have both said that they don't want to go to my mate's house today. that didn't really feature in my plans as I was going to have a couple of hours kidfree to get stuff done!

    How did your HHC's go? Mine turned into an hour and fifteen minutes. I managed to;

    - put a wash on
    - refill the bird feeders
    - sort the stuff to go back on DS's door (he's been doorless since we did his bedroom but I told DH he HAD to have a door for Christmas Eve)
    - filled a bag of rubbish
    - sorted the recycling
    - washed the stuff that wouldn't fit in the dishwasher
    - sort out my clinic and prepare for first client

    What's left of my list?
    Wednesday Mayhem
    mop the bathroom
    Change any bedding
    Phone someone
Spend at least half an hour doing something for yourself.
Vacuum the whole of the upstairs!

    Tonight we also need to:
    - download games onto DD's new phone
    - sort out cards for DS
    - download an itunes voucher
    - wrap box for parent's hamper
    - print out a photo for my mum and dad from my sister

Think that's it. I've also decided to do a mini stocking for my mum and dad as my sister did one last year when she was over here.

Off to wrap the hamper box now.
