I'm going shopping this afternoon to get the turkey so can get some stuff in. I'm thinking dips now, or quails eggs if I can get them... I'll get in some smoked salmon and improvise I think!

I couldn’t get on the internet last night, so I’m updating and writing a new list in one go. I spent most of yesterday out and about – flying was pretty much dailies only, and even that limited.
I’m now woefully behind with all preparations and almost felt like giving up last night. Never mind, I’ve just got to prioritize and get on with it. No flying likely until this afternoon, but by then I really should have everything I need.
DS1 told me at 11pm last night that his GF’s parents had got him a little Christmas present, and could I please organize something for her. I had only got back from Meadowhall earlier and he needs the present early today…. I found some smellies, made little boxes out of spare Christmas cards and filled them with HM fudge. The whole lot looked ok in a nice gift bag. I will definitely start a present cupboard next year (or a present box in my wardrobe somewhere).
I'd love to keep up with the thread, but haven't got a chance. Hope everybody's preparations are going well.

    Monday Mayhem..
    1. S&S the kitchen
    2. Clean the oven and hob
    3. Clean the fridge – too late, most food shopping done now
    4. Make sure your timetable for christmas day is sorted
    5. Dust round the whole downstairs
    Tuesday - Time's nearly up!!!
    1. Children... quick.. tidy your rooms
    2. Iron yesterdays wash mountain – DH to do at the weekend (I’ll iron what we need in the meantime)
    3. Vacuum through downstairs
    4. Get rid of the washing up
    5. Declutter dresser in dining room
    6. Have a skim through the TV guide
    7. Wash any soft furnishings in need of freshening up
    8. Tidy up coats
    Wednesday Mayhem..
    1. Make sure you have all the shopping
    2. Make sure the remaining presents are wrapped
    3. mop the kitchen
    4. mop the bathroom/s and loo's
    5. Clean the bath and shower and loo!
    6. Bake some mince pies and tarts etc
    7. Change any bedding you need to get washed
    8. Sort out the plan for christmas eve.. shop runs, present drop offs etc
    9. Catch up on the laundry again
    10. Phone someone you 'forgot' to post a card to in or send e-card
    11. Spend at least half an hour doing something for yourself.. reading.. relaxing.. goggling... remember you are important too.
    12. Vacuum the whole of the upstairs!
    13. wash windows through the whole downstairs if needed – needed, but bottom of priority list
    14. do a crazy HHC decluttering downstairs
    Today's extras:
Try to get to the body repair shop in our little town to get a quote for the car. It's at the bottom of a steep hill and it snowed yesterday...
    finish cleaning living room
    text friend from work

Collect other prescriptions from doctor’s and get whole lot from chemist’s
Get ham, bacon and pork pie from first butcher
Get tomato sausage from second butcher
Get veg and salad stuff from market
Get bread, bread cakes and jam tarts from baker
    Collect turkey
    DS2 dental appt
    Finish grade sheets
Drop grade sheets off at school
start baking (only just – prepared fruit for Nigella’s choc fruit cake, ready to bake in morning)
plan meals until Monday – vaguely done
declutter stuff from sky+ while wrapping and ask DH/DS1 to do same
Visited DS2’s old nursery to say thank you for getting him the help he needed and drop a card off

Chocolate coins :p Try this thread - some poeple have posted starters. We have snoked salmon on HM granary bread and a bottle of Champagne, about an hour or so before the meal (it's a family tradition from DH';s Great Aunt who was a famour antique dealer ;) )

If you want to make somethng, mackerel pate is easy and quick. Serve with crisped split pitta, and slices of apple, to make it look chefy :T

I made a salmon pate type thing the other week...
I used a tin of salmon, a big dollop of mayo, and a big dollop of philly, a sqeeze of lemon and salt and pepper to taste.
It was very nice, but I thought that it would be very nice with hot smoked salmon...
Actually, I think that would be good with avocado too :D

    Morning lovelies!

Lil_me I bet it's the best xmas ever. I'm not feeling it this year for the opposite reasons, I've gone totally overboard, got some debt (will be paid off ASAP in the new year tho) and it's spoilt it cause I'm not used to buying so much and getting into debt doing it, think I lost some marbles this year.

Hope you feel better after a good nights sleep pigpen, how you do it I'll never know xx

Happy birthday poppytime :bdaycake: have a lovely day! x

Last day of work today and boy am I glad lol Got 2 x 3 hr jobs back to back today and I'm already tired lol Just wrapped 2 pressies that were delivered yesterday, 2 big and heavy ones to do tonight, still haven't been for xmas food shop, not a huge amount but need to buy the chrissy dinner and some basics, I don't do mad xmas food shops lol.

I'm totally sick of the weather, it's put a damper on proceedings for me, still, been checking the website toots posted (saved to faves :D ) and it may start to melt come xmas day, it's about 4 degrees or something

Not posting a list cause I CBA to think of what needs doing, teenie did lots in the house yesterday and we had a chippy tea last night so no S&S needed in the kitchen, place is pretty much ship-shape and what isn't I'm not bothered about lol I'm losing my mojo.

I have been awake since 4 ish

I couldn't get back to sleep, so I got up, and have been wrapping pressies and watching some recorded stuff since 5am :D
I am nearly done wrapping, so, I think I will have a little half hour kitchen faff afterwards :D
