I have to agree regarding S&G. I was given a set at Xmas (plain jane) and I thought the hair mask was rubbish (made my hair feel tacky), the shower soap stuff average, the body butter ok but fragrance wasnt outstanding, didnt like the girligo. I think the packaging is novel but it has become severely overhyped, and when I was given a hatbox the other week I put it on ebay at 99p start. The fact it ended up selling for £28 was nothing to do with me, I paid £20 but would have been happy to just get my money back. And postage? I charged what it cost,
£8.50. So you see what some sellers must be making on postage alone.
So, you were given the hatbox or did you buy it for £20? You seem a bit confused...

Just wondering does this mean that if you have young children and a buggy that you are not allowed to go shopping???
I took my 18 month old son with me to my local Boots yesterday and got a few bargains only spent £20 for upcoming birthdays, mainly stuff for the men as i have plenty in the drawer for the ladies. I agree with others that it is extremely hard to shop with buggy's as it is as you can never get in anywhere let alone when there is a sale on!! Luckily the bootsers in my local where great and really considerate and he was happy munching on the chocolate coins but next year im going to plan in advance and hit a larger Boots store to hopefully get a bigger range!

Dont you worry next year when i go i will leave my son at home, alone, playing with the fire!!!

    Hello Skibster
Thanks for the update on the Oracle stock, do you know if they had any of the FCUK purse sets left ? And is there anything left in Broad Street (they didn't have much before 75% sale !). I'm debating whether to go into town or not ..................... but could be tempted if the FCUK purse sets are at the Oracle branch. TIA.

There was just a tiny bit of fcuk stuff, didn't see a purse set. Broad Street was down to very little.

Hello got loads, live in Galway in the west of Ireland so was lucky. Not as many avid shoppers here it seems. Still some things left mainly christmas cards etc. Anyone know if there is a scheduled 90% off this year could do with buying wrapping paper and cards for next christmas. Thanks everyone for all the info

What are the Boots Euro prices like compared to £ this year? I have a cousin in Dublin (her closest would be Liffey Valley) is it worth her while going. It seems the vast majority of ppl in the Republic came north for the sales!!

Sorry thats what happens when I type too fast lol, brain not in gear. No I bought the hatbox, but was given the other set (plain jane). I hadnt tried the plain jane set before I bought the hatbox, if that makes sense, but once I tried it and disliked it I didnt see the point in keeping the hatbox.
Please God, help me stop spending!

But.... on the flip side, why does the average shopper have more rights over the gift sets than someone who is going to sell them on?

    Just a thought.
They don't have more rights but those customers are likely to shop with Boots all year round not just in the sales. It is actually not a bad idea to keep your core base of customers happy as well as the ones who only buy at sale time. I am sure Boots need sales through the year not just at sales time. Upsetting your regulars so they start shopping elsewhere can't be good for long term profits.

I think you're being a bit harsh on how Boots treat their regulars. All year long there are countless great offers, glitches, points opportunities to regulars and lets not forget how massive a company they are. Very few people nowadays are brand loyal. And don't forget the terrible year some families have had with the economic situation. People are ALWAYS going to take advantage, no point getting narked about it.

There were quite a few people with pushchairs in the Bournemouth store so getting round wasn't too traumatic because so many were in the same boat.
I did however have to try and keep one hand on the pushchair, one hand on my 3 year old and still try and juggle all the bits and pieces I wanted..probably a good thing as it kept my spending in check!

I think the majority of pushchair mummies aren't in the habit of barging (although I know there are some that do) its just sometimes you have said excuse me 10 times, have looked around for an alternative route to avoid having to pass the stubborn person who cant be bothered to move 2 inches but have had no success.
If most parents are anything like me they DREAM of going shopping child free..... (being able to go into a changing room without having a toddler opening the curtain every 2 secs while you have your trousers off and not having the curtain draped around a buggy is something I dream of anyway) but alas its just hardly ever possible!
I avoid the shops as much as possible when I have to take the 2 terrors out but things like the Boots sale just cant be missed!
If my words are missing letters then please excuse me....my keyboard is a tad dodgy!!
