Snip...
Nobody "needs" a Gok Wan beauty box or whatever the heck it is called and as for setting alarm clocks and dragging small children along to somewhere you know is going to be full of pushing, barging idiots - well it is just beyond me?
Thats half the people on here including me lol. Always buying stuff i dont need, not dragging kids anywhere though.I think people are misunderstanding what I am trying to get at - I don't mean Boots employing the VIP slots that Next do. I mean that when the Next sale goes on sale to the "general public" when you try to access it you are put in a queue and it lets you know how many minutes your wait is. By the way you don't need an invite to get VIP slots for next sale. If you go to www.next.co.uk/vipsale or just log into your account a few days before you are given the option of booking a slot whether they have given you an invite or not.
Sorry that was me. I have only opened an account this year. I use to have one years and years ago for clothes but now more into home stuff. Have bought so much stuff from the sale its unreal. Thanks for the invite info. Will try remember for next time and tell my friend who never gets one."I'm selfish, impatient and a little insecure. I make mistakes, I am out of control and at times hard to handle. But if you can't handle me at my worst, then you sure as hell don't deserve me at my best." — Marilyn Monroepinkladymel wrote: »she hasn't lost the ol' Bootsing magic:D

Leicester Fosse Park - 9am yesterday! Timed it well, there was lots availble but the shop was filling up.By 10am i can imagine most was gone. Mixture of trolleys/basket shoppers/no pushers but hardly any room to move!
I bought:
Front Cover set x 2
Domino Filofax x 2
Celia Birtwell Case
Emma Bridgewater Journal x 2
FCUK Purse set
Miss Sixty Set
Emma Bridgewater Reminders Book
Morgan Love de toi set x 2
A mens Watch
A red suede 2010 Diary
Botanics mini cosmetic set x 2
Emma Bridgewater Passport set
All totalled about £55, saving £177. (although we all know they were 3 for 2 so they would have never cost £55 + £177.)
Was very pleased and could have got LOTS more but wouldnt have had any use with them.
Get in early!:AQuidcoCodes

Just back from taking eldest to pre-school and seeing to my poorly mum (mum + 2 pre-school kids are part of the reason I'm not able to get to the shops except at weekends) so only just saw this. Bless you hun, that's really really kind of you! To be honest the Peppa/Glitterbabes/Barbie/Disney/Charlie&Lola stuff will be long gone by now, but I really appreciate the thought :A0 -
Good Morning Ladies
Well I am shocked again, after getting an email yesterday to say that my items had been dispatched.
Believe it or not I have just took delivery of my order. Im well impressed.
Just a shame it took me 2 hours to get my order through but all in all I am really chuffed with my bargains
Has anyone else had theirs delivered?
did you choose next day deliverY? i seleceted the free option. which for me was mon 25th . still says order being processed. x0 -
I too went into boots in leeds and there were people running in. I ended up with a big basket and trolley full and spent £92 which to me is great. i dont feel like i have to justify myself to people that say it is greed because i bought things here that I WILL save for christmas and birthdays this year. I was speaking to the shop assistant and she said that it will be same stuff on shelves this christmas anyway. So why am i going to buy a gok set for £40 when i got it for £10 yesterday. i saved money. I find it very expensive at christmas to buy all my family presents and end up skint for months before. so to me this is a great idea to spread the cost and not realise i have spent it then when it comes to christmas i will have some money left for seeing friends and taking children out.
I think people that complain that we spend money now obviously have more money than sense.... Sorry if i have gone on a bit but i feel abit peeved that people are on here complaining that people bought lots of stuff.
Some people waited up all night and if they wanted to buy lots of things i think it is there choice x0 -
I just dont get it. OK stock up for a few birthdays and treat yourself, but buying the xmas shopping for the next 5 years is also a waste of time in my opinion, you will only end up buying more.
Couldn't agree more. This grabbing trolleyfuls of goods is greed , pure and simple and I think it is quite pathetic.
Nobody "needs" a Gok Wan beauty box or whatever the heck it is called and as for setting alarm clocks and dragging small children along to somewhere you know is going to be full of pushing, barging idiots - well it is just beyond me?
People will justify it by saying "spent £60 saved £150 " - still spent £60 that could have stayed in your purse. It's only 3 weeks after Xmas - how much stuff do people need for pity's sake:mad:
I actually don't have a problem with people stocking up for birthdays throughout the year, next Christmas, and why not have a few treats too when the stuff is so cheap?!
The £60 could have stayed in your purse, sure, but over the year you will save money while still giving nice presents/having nice products in your bathroom! (Perhaps also nicer than you would otherwise have been able to afford?)
However, I suspect that anyone who has enough stock for "the next five years" is NOT buying it for personal use/gifts, but to sell on. That, I think is wrong, and is where limits should be set per customer.
Not everyone who shops at Boots is a pushing, barging idiot you know.0 -

I got that Diary too, Its really nice and such a bargain."I'm selfish, impatient and a little insecure. I make mistakes, I am out of control and at times hard to handle. Hi guys,
Just wanted to add to the comments above - this is a money saving site.
Personally, I visit this site to save some of my hard earned money. The Boots 75% off sale is a god send as it allows me to purchase gifts for family and frineds for the year ahead (birthday's, mothers day, fathers day and xmas 2010). Without this sale I would either end up more broke than I am now OR the pressies I give wont be as nice!
It takes a LOT of planning and effort for us genuine money savers as I am sure you know! I hasten to add I am not a money maker and do not profit from any of my purchases.
This is only my second year of doing this and I cannot tell you how much it saves during the year ahead.
TIP:
I do an online shop on xmas eve in the 50% off sale for items that I REALLY want to get as presents for the year ahead. I only saved about £30 as you dont get the 3-4-2 saving.
I research the remaining stock in store a few days before the 75% sale is hinted to start and then the day before, make a list of items I REALLY want and I plan my route around the shop!
May be extreme, but I got what I wanted (only hiccup was when the escaltor was broken lol, so I had to alter my route
I have to say, I try to stay clear of the "scrum" of the most popular sets. I really liked the No7 sets and would have wanted one for my mum BUT I knew it would be chaotic, so I avoided it.
My OH laughs at me, but doesnt complain when I have got all his families gift for a fraction of the usual price!
Finally - THANK YOU to all on here for sharing their knowledge of sale start dates and for sharing their stories - it all helps doesnt it.
Steff;)

Thank you to all the MSE'ers that kept me going on the night though (the coke and chocolates helped) and sorry I didn't get you your first sale baby :rotfl: He is still wedged under my ribs all though with all that laughing it was touch and go a few times :rotfl:
