Boots after-Christmas sales - 75% off now over?

yes 75% off is a good discount but for the amount of effort involved i don't think people buying to sell on are going to make a massive profit.
i had a few items (for personal use) in my basket on the online sale but was unable to log in so gave up before i'd invested too much time in a wild goose chase.
When you see the plight of those Haitians it puts this trivial bargain hunting into perspective doesn't it?squaaaaaaaaacccckkkkkk!!!! :money:0 -
Been reading over this thread - well done to all who got their bargains! I decided to give it a miss, planning on moving back to ireland this year so the less stuff i have to move the better!
did pop in to boots in the afternoon for a nosey though, couldnt resist! not much stuff left on the shelves, but then they brought in 2 crates of sale stock, really enjoyed the buzz of excitement within the group of women huddling around the crates :rotfl:Grabbed just one thing at 75% off - lee stafford poker straight set - would have been rude not to! - then got my 99p vitamins + points and went on my merry way
will definately be there with the early birds next year, cant wait!I got ham but i'm not a hamster.....0 -
Been overcharged £84.71 not happy, don't know how they managed it.
.
On the phone to them at the moment on hold, senior supervisor looking into it.
Gok sets overcharged so everyone check your orders ,other stuff overcharged not sure what at the moment they are phoning me back later, they admit I have been overcharged.0 -
I just dont get it. OK stock up for a few birthdays and treat yourself, but buying the xmas shopping for the next 5 years is also a waste of time in my opinion, you will only end up buying more.
Couldn't agree more. This grabbing trolleyfuls of goods is greed , pure and simple and I think it is quite pathetic.
Nobody "needs" a Gok Wan beauty box or whatever the heck it is called and as for setting alarm clocks and dragging small children along to somewhere you know is going to be full of pushing, barging idiots - well it is just beyond me?
People will justify it by saying "spent £60 saved £150 " - still spent £60 that could have stayed in your purse. It's only 3 weeks after Xmas - how much stuff do people need for pity's sake:mad:0 -

I think people are misunderstanding what I am trying to get at - I don't mean Boots employing the VIP slots that Next do. I mean that when the Next sale goes on sale to the "general public" when you try to access it you are put in a queue and it lets you know how many minutes your wait is. By the way you don't need an invite to get VIP slots for next sale. If you go to www.next.co.uk/vipsale or just log into your account a few days before you are given the option of booking a slot whether they have given you an invite or not.0

I spent £120 in 4 stores, the 1st store I did indeed grab grab grab after 25 mins sleep as I did sit up all night. I did come home with a massive stash I cannot keep looking at without grinning.
If this annoys you I do not care. I have got birthday and xmas presants for my whole family for the year. I put in the research and the time and then the physical effort to get this stuff.
I have emailed .com twice to complain about the online sale that did not work.
I will do the same next year.
As far as i am concered i did NEED a gok set 3 weeks after xmas and if I saw another today i would probably buy it. my family will love there gifts this year and my purse will certainly love me.
In essence. my sale haul is justified ten fold.:D0 -

I agree it's a bit mad to stock up for more than a yr ahead purely because i can't see where people would store all the stuff, but in honesty i don't blame people as it's wiser to spend a smaller amount when you have the money to spend rather than spend more at the last minute just so you dodge "pushing, barging idiots".0
