I also think it says it all really about how much effort they have made to sort things out that the holding page still says 2008. I am finding that more and more I shop elsewhere because of the poor stock levels of basic items I want to buy and the problems with the website. I have also found their delivery is pretty poor too.

Whaddya want, a new orange couple every year??? :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

The trouble is I find that the website is pretty poor all year round.

I agree - I find it a lot slower than other websites 50% of the time. Next manage to cope when they have a sale and it must be a similar if not more amount of customers. At least they have a queuing system too so you know you will be on the website in x amount of minutes which perhaps Boots should think about.

I think I must have had the fastest online order ever.
Ordered at 5.10am yesterday, arrive at 7am this morning.
    Free delivery.
    Spot on.
I'm not surprised they took it off online either, in fact I think that they may not put in on their next year.
Time will tell, and i'll be waiting.

It has always gone to 90%, but its normally just a few odds and sods, the stuff that no body wants

A couple of years ago, before I had really figured out Bootsing and the MSE threads, there was apparently an awesome 90% off sale where not only was there a good bit left, but many people didn't know about it -- including store staff! A few Bootsers posted about it here, and others were free to run to their stores and grab items left ignored and unsigned on the shelves. Sounds dreamy. Those days are long gone as the success of MSE spreads the word so far and wide that too many people know about it for deals to last that long.

I remember that first year when I just started reading the thread, s&g products lingered long after Christmas, too. I didn't bother with them at the time. This year, all the s&g Christmas stock was gone from my local before the 50% off sale even started!
  • I definitely agree that the amount each person can buy instore should be limited.
Getting your oh to hold your basket while you go round is one thing, filling the whole floor of an aisle and just sweeping everything from the shelf onto the floor is another.

I might email boots too. I'm sure it will do zip but maybe then At least I can stop feeling so bitter!
If my words are missing letters then please excuse me....my keyboard is a tad dodgy!!
  • Anyone called about the stuff showing online as in stock but full price?

  • This is the message on the boots website:
Due to the phenomenal demand for our 75% sale, we have now sold through all of our remaining sale stock. As a result of this increased demand you may have experienced some problems whilst trying to place an order on the Boots.com for which we apologise.

However, the sale is still continuing in our stores, subject to stock availability. To find your local Boots store please click here to use our store locator.
We still have a selection of baby products available at up to 1/2 price off.

To view our list of save up to 1/2 price baby products click here

Boots.com would like to apologise for any inconvenience caused as a result of this unprecedented demand.

Which I came across by following this link http://www.boots.com/en/Christmas/For-Her/ and clicking on 75% sale
*wonders when they will make dressing gowns acceptable day wear?*
No new toiletries challenge - use up the stash first!
