Boots after-Christmas sales - 75% off now over?

This reminds me of exactly what happened last year. After the sale was pulled lots of people were saying things were in their baskets but full price but according to Boots they were out of stock.0

Can I just add that the staff at Boots Chester were great too....handing out bags, finding requests for people and being generally polite.
Two thumbs up and I know which store I'll be heading to next year.0 -
Success in Sunderland yesterday. Very busy but good natured.
I was there about 10 mins after opening at 08:40 and did a little tour of the sale bits on the mostly deserted ground floor (had spotted this stand on a previous reccie). Delighted to get a few gorgeous men's 100% leather washbags for a fiver each tucked away at the bottom. They certainly look the part for gifts for the fellas in our family this Christmas. Also a gorgeous Charlie and Lola wooden alphabet toy that I'd had my eye on for about a fiver instead of near £20. Oh yes, and a few Miko Cat mini make-up sets for DD's party gifts to friends.
Then upstairs to the sight of LOTS of blue bags crammed to the top and slightly hyper atmosphere! Got lovely Celia Birtwell cosmetics organisers for the girlies, some Emma Bridgewater Travel gifts and stationery, a few Star trek for novelty gifts, a couple of Fresh baskets for the younger girls gifts, and a couple of mini women's EDT sets.
No go on the 250 points voucher for 2 Royal Jelly gift bags - so I left them.
I was struggling back to car with little angel 7 month old in buggy by 09:10. He did look very bemused and amused by this change to his routine! Have a feeling it was probably wise to get in and out before the school run Mums - did it get much busier after?
Waiting for my second hatbox from the smaller Boots (mainly pharmacy) - have had the despatch email. This is for my sister's birthday next Tues. Can't decide whether to try it on with the store chemist for £12.50!
Anyone know if there's any point in going back to look for more goodies in the Bridges today please? There were certainly lots of full cages coming out from Store room whilst I was there yesterday morning.
Well done to all you successful Bootsers :j and so sorry to those who were disappointed :mad:From Money Spending Expert  to Money Saving Expert0 -
Am I the only one a little bit miffed that I couldn't get an online order through yesterday (and no possibility of going instore), yet a lot of what I wanted is now amazingly back in stock - if I want to pay full price for it?!!
It seems a bit unfair to those of us who can't get to a store/have no decent stores within an hours drive. I was hoping for toys, and those will be long gone from any store anyway.
I had hoped that Boots would update stock levels online each morning like in the past, and can't believe they think I'm going to pay full price for something I could have bought yesterday - if it wasn't for their stupid website crashing - at 1/4 price!
I spent all night and most of yesterday trying to get an order through, even when I was down to only 3 things left in my basket, but by the time the site behaved itself there was literally nothing left, not even a pack of xmas cards. Even more frustrating now it turns out that was my only chance0 -
Cant wait, the boots.com order I managed to place yesterday morning has already been despatched and its being delivered today, much quicker than I expected.Rare Disease Day28 February 2013 is Rare Disease Day.Raise awareness for patients, families and carers whose lives are affected by rare diseases worldwideUnited we are stronger0

went to bed at 4pm yesterday after 38 hours of being awake - have only just woken up!! lol.
Sat up all night (was online from 7pm - 7am) managed to get a few bits online despite the shoddy website.
Went to my local Boots for 7.30am !!!!!!!s didn't open the store until 9.20  got barged and squashed whilst getting all my stuff - came out with 5 bags of stuff
then went to the big store where i met my mum who managed to nab 2 chilli pepper bags, some royal jelly stuff, boots extracts mini bags (got 12 to ensure the ladies i work with have a xmas gift for xmas 2010) found a botanics aromatherapy set which had been hidden... among other things.. got home around 3pm
I do want to say a massive THANK YOU!! to everyone on this thread for making me laugh and keeping me awake! I've had a great time chatting to you all!!!! Its been a blast and I look forward to more Bootsing in the future (if there is a good offer on lol):j
