Am I the only one a little bit miffed that I couldn't get an online order through yesterday (and no possibility of going instore), yet a lot of what I wanted is now amazingly back in stock - if I want to pay full price for it?!!

It seems a bit unfair to those of us who can't get to a store/have no decent stores within an hours drive. I was hoping for toys, and those will be long gone from any store anyway.

I had hoped that Boots would update stock levels online each morning like in the past, and can't believe they think I'm going to pay full price for something I could have bought yesterday - if it wasn't for their stupid website crashing - at 1/4 price!

I spent all night and most of yesterday trying to get an order through, even when I was down to only 3 things left in my basket, but by the time the site behaved itself there was literally nothing left, not even a pack of xmas cards. Even more frustrating now it turns out that was my only chance :(

I have just emailed them voicing my disgust that 2 of the items I really wanted but were supposedly sold out but are now showing as in stock but at full price (Gok and Elle Sets). I too spent all night and all day yesterday and only ended up with one item. Probably won't get me anywhere but made me feel better :o

Its not about getting up early - many of them are quite nasty if you try and buy something near them. Others get up early, but what chance do you have against a gang buying it all up ? I was physically pushed out of the way last year by a woman man handling 2 trollies down the aisle and I am not small !
For what my opinion is worth, and probably not alot, I agree with a lot of people here and feel items should have a limit of how many a customer can buy. Having said that its the same in the Next sale - I have had things whipped from my pushchair top and hand while browsing. I just wouldnt dare, but alas plenty do !

    Thats absolutly awful!
When I was in my local boots everyone was really friendly, I even got chatting to a woman and reffered her to MSE website :rotfl:
The staff were brilliant- even allowing me to leave 2 of my bags there so I could do 2 trips to the car :T

I have never seen a 90% off sale - dont remember it happening last year unless it is just individual stores getting rid of the odd ancient item. I do believe they were great in the "gold old days" (lol!) a few years back but I had not discovered the ancient art of bootsing then lol :rotfl:

It has always gone to 90%, but its normally just a few odds and sods, the stuff that no body wants
  • Hi, just to let you know there are still a few toys online for 50% off - I just managed to get a fisher price camera for £25 instead of £50 - way I found it was through the wish list and then other toys were listed at side of screeen.... BE QUICK THO as only a few things left.... :j

Anyone elses arms hurting like crazy today!! Ouch!

I dont blame boots for not coping online, whats the point of them spending thousands to upgrade their servers for 1 day a year when they sell everything reduced. I think they would be better off shipping that stock to stores and not going to 75% online - then they wouldnt have these problems.

Well I was lucky enough to be able to get to a store in the afternoon and get some bits although not really a lot of what I wanted. I am going to email them too because their website is poor generally, I find it very slow all year round. I also think it says it all really about how much effort they have made to sort things out that the holding page still says 2008. I am finding that more and more I shop elsewhere because of the poor stock levels of basic items I want to buy and the problems with the website. I have also found their delivery is pretty poor too.

I was trying from just after 5am to get an online order through and it just wouldn't take my credit card details. The website is a shambles for a company the size of Boots. I also think they need to sort out something to stop people trying to order huge quantities at once and set a limit in store of how many items one person can buy at once.

I feel so sorry for all of you that stayed up all night and couldn't get an order through and will be emailing as much on behalf of you as myself. Possibly the only way that the message will get through is if enough people complain and then vote with their feet and shop elsewhere so they lose business at the slower times of the year. I have found that I can get a lot of the things I want cheaper elsewhere anyway. I am not sure I want to shop with a company that seems to have a "couldn't care less attitude."
