Evening all! A bit of a late posting from me! I'm on the nightshift this weekend, when I drove home this morning it was -7.5 degrees!!! It was terrible to drive in as we'dhad quite a bit of snow which had then frozen, My journey from work is usually less than 10 mins but took half an hour this morning! OH has driven me in tonight and I've arranged a lift home with my workmate as it just terrifies me!!! This is my last proper shift till 2nd Jan although I have 5 days of coming in just for a couple of hours in the morning. Today I've done very little, heating has been on all afternoon and I've been cuddled under my blanky watching tv. Tea was steak which I bought and froze a while back when Mr M had it half price. Cleaning and sweets/choccys making day tomorrow when I get up I think.
I think our bosses must be MSE mebers, the heating has been off all weekend, the office block doesn't get used that much at a weekend but there's someone in our office 24/7 so I'm a bit miffed...you can imagine how cold it is when the heating's been off since Friday tea time......ah well a good excuse to make lots of cups of tea!!!0 -

I have been a busy little bee! Walked to the shopping centre, got a hairdryer from Mum and spent 62 in new look! Which included Rainbow brite pjs. And people wonder why Im single? Went to tesco and bought LOADS which seems like nothing. Far too much to mention how much i spent on booze
Neighbour traced me in shops and came round tesco with me. It was great cause she helped me get stuff! Bought in to make Red onion chutney, and Nigellas chilli jam ! Also had £3 of mcvitie vouchers so spent those on christmas stuff. Had loads of vouchers - when i got to the till i had £9 in vouchers :money::D:eek: Dead exciting. :T
Heard about number one and had a Rum coffee with cream to celebrate. Have stashed most of the beer in my neighbours , else it will get drank here. Kept the rum though
Came home, put my shopping away and cleaned the fridge. My neighbour helped me in with the shopping, and when she saw how clean and comparitively clutter free my living room was, her mouth literally hit the floor
Now need to put the little decs i bought up on the tree, and get on with my chutneys.
Might put pics up later of stuff, feeling particularly silly.A little nonsense now and then is relished by the wisest men

It is the January issue (although on sale in December) but you can get some unsealed - not sure why some have a supplement and others don't?
I feel stuffed. Just had some chocolate and marzipan loaf with an impromptu chocolate sauce over the top made from heated double cream and Nutella :TI have a gift for enraging people, but if I ever bore you it'll be with a knifeLouise Brooks

late evening everyone
We have had more snow today, wasn't forecast though, don't think they know whats happening.
Have survived our xmas buffet with OHs kids. The 2 older ones (in their 20s) from his first marriage were lovely as usual, the eldest brought his GF too.
DSD (15) was allowed to bring her BF and her mate, the buffet went out at 4 and they wanted to go at 4.30 OH said no not till 6 so cue 3 teenagers sulking for hour and a half ....have decided I won't do it again next year, have spent all weekend baking and feel a bit let down.
I have a lot of leftovers, weather permitting will take to work tomorrow, was going to get a tin of sweets as everyone else has done, but was told noooooo we want homemade stuff, well leftovers is as good as they getmind you have a lovely choc cake with cherry and fresh cream filling that only one slice went out of, so they can have that along with cheese straws, whirls and sausage rolls.
I cry at carols too, GMTV is killing me at the moment, carols and cute little kiddies that early in the morning, have to wait to put make up on till after they have been on :rotfl:
My DD when she was young had a real thing about toilets, couldn't understand it, one day she told me, Mum it would be ok if we could take our own toilet seat with us, I hate those shiney thin black ones in public toilets, they scare me, never did get to the bottom of why they scared her, but it explained all the years before where she wouldn't go into a public loo.
Anyways, hope everyone had a good and productive day, cyas soon xxxxxwhoever said laughter was the best medicine has clearly never tasted wine

Evening all
Well I am all ready except for fresh bread, milk etc which the family can pick up nearer time.
I have to be at the hospital for 7.30 in the morning and have just booked a taxi for 6.30 to give me time to get there - hope the snow doesn't get any worse, the last thing I need is this operation being put off again. Been a really busy day with last minute calls, delivering presents and cards and a few visitors!
Have a good evening all

Good evening folks
I haven't been posting as although I have been mad busy, not much of it has been OS. I hope to restore normal service in January. I have been granted probate on my husband's estate, so I have been up to my eyes trying to sort as much paperwork as possible before Christmas. I also now have Grumpy the House Elf off school for the holidays, and the cat is still quite partial to the Christmas tree, although I have made her a hot water bottle the last two mornings as she keeps sitting on Grumpy to keep warm, then he can't move poor little thing.
Today I have also cleaned the house/slum/whatever that we live in. In the last three weeks, the 4 flights of stairs and 4 landings have had the walls painted, woodwork glossed and the stairs now have carpet, so no more splinters for Grumpy (we just had bare boards before), and he is pleased. I have hoovered all round this morning, and all the bathmats have been washed and dried, and all the ironing is done.
There is zero chance of me getting to sit on my rather broad backside for any length of time given that I have a 5 year old, but surely all of the stuff I've done today may give me a fighting chance?
nic1lou2 I'll be thinking of you tomorrow. Hope it goes well.
Smoky I hope the little poorly people are better soon. It's such hard work going it alone when they're ill.
Hugs to anyone else needing one.
Take care all of you.0
