Hi there! This is the Daily Thread for Saturday 19th December. It is an 'Over the garden fence' type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!
As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or slow internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred.
Please do not start a new Daily Thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two Dailys' live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new Daily Thread after they get up in the morning.
Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “Hi everyone, hope you are all well” type start is just as good.

Good morning everyone HStree12.gif

Hope that you are staying warm in this cold weather!

We had a lovely realxing day yesterday here. I made the salt dough decorations with DS3 and we're going to hang them up today :T I also got some more of the John Wayne cross stitch done & my scarf is knitting up nicely and very quickly too.

Plans for today are to put up the cards and do some baking for the freezer. More mince pies and a couple of lemon drizzle cakes I think.

Lunch is Potato Hash & Yorkshire puddings and tea will be soup & a sandwich.

If you have young children have a look at NORAD's Santa Tracking on Christmas Eve. We did it a few years ago & DS3 was enchanted & amazed being able to see where Father Christmas was up to!

Have a lovely day & wrap up warm.

Diva I hope that everything is ok and you're just having a lie in.

Good morning  I'll tidy up the 2 dailies that we have, started within minutes of each other ;)

DH is taking the children down south to visit family today. I can't go as I have to work tomorrow icon9.gif I'm off to a party tonight, which I'll enjoy, but wish I had my family with me :o Must remember not to stay out too late ;)

The house is now pretty tidy, and we'll decorate it when they're back on Tuesday :j I'm going to spend my day making those old Style gifts (Nigella's chilli jam, cookies, fudge, hats for chutney jars, etc). Oooh, and watch Strictly while doing the ironing :D There is News Blackout in Penguin Towers until I've seen it :p

Have a productive Old Style day :A

    O little town of Bethlehem
How still we see thee lie
Above thy deep and dreamless sleep
    The silent stars go by

Yet in they dark streets shineth
    The everlasting light
The hopes and fears of all the years
    Are met in thee tonight
    :xmassmile

    Morning :santa2:

Frosty here today :D Mr tru is off work til the 27th :j
We're going to a carol concert tonight. They have two performances, I wanted to go at 4pm, so obviously mr tru picked up tickets for 7pm  :rotfl: We'll probably have a lazy day til then. Once we've cleaned out the animals and the ironing's done, we'll be watching Christmas films and writing some cards to give out later.

Bargainbird - hope he is suitably subdued today! (is that spelt right?)

Another day and another big to do list - actually there isn't one at the moment just about to write it. Did get loads done yesterday but it is never ending at the moment.

Am thinking (just thinking) about hitting tesco's when it opens this morning, if I go today I can make OH come with me. Will then just leave picking up the turkey and veg Xmas eve - I know it wont be a pleasant experience :rotfl:

All ironing done but I will iron what dries today so I can start the week with an empty basket. Will get all the cards done and the final bits of wrapping. Have a few appointments and stuff over the next few days and the rest of the time will be spent cleaning the house ready for Xmas day.

Am behind with paperwork as well as didnt have the laptop much last week.

Would also like to go and see Nativity at our little cinema later but dont think OH & DS are interested as Chelsea are playing.

Anyway roast pork for dinner and probably a fry up for lunch.

Best get on, have a great day.x

    Morning all

Been up early thanks to DH phoning to let me know he got to work safely- went to MIL last night and the 30min drive home turned into 2 hrs, roads shut, car slipping in snow very scary- am refusing to go anywhere while there is even a snowflake around.
Very cold here this am, just checked the heating was still on. According to BBC forecast its going down to-8 on Tuesday night:eek:
Well the day ahead involves a lot of cleaning- am back to work tomorrow after 2 weeks on the sick and the house doesn't look any tidier for it;) although we have just had Virgin tv installed after promising ds1 and ds2 for ages so obviously mag get sidetracked occasionally:rolleyes:

    Have a good day all:santa2:
