:rotfl:At the last bit of your post Smokybabe! Glad all theLOs are ok now.

((((HUGS)))) redruby, so sorry to hear about your Dad. That was a lovely thing to do for the Big Issue man :A

halight, that's so thoughtful and just like you. Our neighbours are elderly, but we know they are ok as their daughter lives with them.

CRANKY - Thinking of you x

Hester - So pleased to see that some people do appreciate you!

tru - Glad you are warm again! :j

Looks lovely outside this morning, but it's really icy so I'll have to wear my old boots, which while they aren't snowboots do at least have a bit of grip on the soles. They are on the shoe rack in the hall but haven't been worn for a long time, so they are very dusty and I think I'll check inside them for spiders before putting them on :D

Planning to get the tree put up and decorated today.

Yesterday I was so cold that I ironed DH's shirts in the hope it would warm me up a bit - I rarely do ironing as I have problems with my left arm (I'm left-handed so it's not very convenient:rolleyes:). It didn't really help, but DH was pleased :D I'm sitting here warmly dressed including slippers and thick socks, but my toes are still freezing  We are promised more snow in London area tonight.

Dinner is going to be beef gulasch, I saw a recipe for in my GH cookbook and noticed I already had all the ingredients - even parsley to sprinkle on top, as there's some in the freezer (somewhere:confused:) - just needed soured cream, so remembered to get some yesterday. We're going to DD's for Xmas lunch and she's cooking a chicken, so we're taking a turkey crown as well which I'll cook at home and wrap in foil. We went to M & S to get it, thinking it would be cheaper than the butcher, but actually I don't think it was, so it's back to the butcher next year. Still, I saw soured cream in there and remembered to get some.

Asda were doing BOGOF on bags of carrots the other day so although I only needed one, we got a bag for DD - then when I got home and was reading the paper I saw that they were half-price in Lidl atm :p Oh well.

Hope everyone has a good day - keep as warm as poss!

    Good morning everyone.

It's freezing here and more snow is forecast for later on. It'll keep the children & dogs amused although I don't plan on going out too much in it. DH is stewarding at a football match this afternoon which appears to be on at the moment so fingers crossed :D

Diva Enjoy the Christmas tree. I think it was from the hysteria sisters site but can't remember now!

I'm going to make some salt dough stars with DS3 to hang in the kitchen on pretty ribbon later and get some more sewing & knitting done also. Everyone else is out & about so it'll be a quiet day.

Lunch is going to be cheese toasties with some tomato soup that I've made and dinner is meatballs in pasta sauce. There only ended up being 3 of us last night and we fancied an omlette and winter salad so no cooking tonight :j

Have a good day all & keep warm and toasty :D
  • Ok ok the 6months drought has finally ended thats all i'm saying:p ;):D:whistle:. The must be something in the air .

Kitchen done, DD's are watching a film about the toothfairy, even 2 of the dogs are watching :D. DH is cleaning pigeons need to find ping pong balls later when in town.....that should keep you guessing :rotfl:. Hester no it's not my version of your marbles :rotfl:

    Right off to get on....

Curlytop - Can you look in local paper to see if BIL b'day remembrance is in Please please pretty please :D

  • Good Morning Chums the sun is shining at the moment but the snow is still hanging about and doesn't seem to be melting so I guess its still perishing outside. I will have to go and try and defrost my car and see if it will start shortly as I have a big bag of birthday goodies for my youngest daughter who has reached the grand age of 40 today.I spoke to her first thing and she said all of the five children had helped her husband to make her a breakfast in bed and they we all sitting on her bed (they have a super kingsize one )helping her to eat it. I have been quite industrious this morning and turned out two cupboards in my kitchen and rearanged stuff so I have a bit more room.I am also trying to declutter my sitting room a bit. I Hope everyone has a great day and keeps wrapped up warm. I have lamb chops and mash for dinner tonight.I put some braising beef in the SC and cooked it overnight and my kitchen smelt lovely this morning .I covered them with mash and portioned them all up so I have three 'instant 'dinners in my freezer for whenever next week.
Right time to get a move on and try to get my car warmed up
    Cheers everyone
    JackieO xx
  • Good morning :D

Well it's rather nippy again this morning. The snow is still laying, but thankfully no more fell in the night. Hope it holds off again tonight, as we're out to a big family party. Cab drivers are mad round here at the best of times, don't fancy a trip in one on snow

More presents have arrived by post today. Do I give thanks for the day I subscribed to Amazon prime :T I've had a dozen or more parcels delivered this past couple of weeks, all next day special delivery, which would have cost a small fortune otherwise. So I'd best get busy with the wrapping paper and sellotape soon. Just a couple more to get then I'm done :j Might even be able to think about buying some Christmas food :D

Got all DS's laundry done, it looks a lot less now that it's ironed and folded. Shame I ran out of energy before I'd ironed all my own stuff :rotfl:

Taplady, glad it went well yesterday :T Make sure you do rest up, abstaining from housework is as important as the celibate life :D

Tired mum, it was tru who got her heating sorted. She probably does have the figure for a bikini, I most certainly do not :o:rotfl: And DH in speedos  not with his legs ;)

Redruby, (((((hugs)))))) so sorry to hear the news about your Dad. Hopefully the tablets will keep it at bay for a long time, but it is still devastating for you and your family. As Aussie says, your Mum is really going to need you. Do you think that she may have consciously or unconsciously "known" and her harshness with him was her being in denial

Best make tracks, got to make a heap of mince pies to take tonight. We all chip in towards the cost, but I like to take something homebaked as well.

Have good days, and try to keep warm. CM x

Ooooooooooh I wish :D Maybe if I lose 3 dress sizes and spend an hour a day for the rest of my life doing tummy toning exercises  :rotfl:

  • We're having our Christmas lunch today due to all being in different places on the day itself... we made the vegetarian and vegan things and desserts last night and just have the meat (just turkey breasts rather than a whole one, as only 3 of us are eating meat! and of course little sausages in bacon), vegetables and sauces to do today... and clean the whole house before people come round in a couple of hours!
