Evening all, well managed Body Balance tonight, was totally not into going but considering have been on holiday, I really didn't have a good enough excuse.

Dinner on now as I am starving, some oven chips, sausages and savoury rice, not very healthy or adventurous but needs must as not been to the supermarket this week yet. Will pop out for something for tomorrows dinner at some point tomorrow, but generally going to get stuck into the house.

Also, phoned to pay off my loan, it feels so good, but was nearly tempted by the CC lady asking if I wanted to transfer my loan onto the 0% I've just taken out, thought about it for about a second then said no. Told her I was paying off the loan and she asked if I had won the lottery, eh no, but I wish I had.

Car insurance I can get for £275, my renewal was £298 (was £284 last year), so think will change it to save a few pennies, and increase my monthly mot/road tax/insurance savings to £50 per month or £600 per year. The £180 I had saved for the insurance is almost gone as I've been spending that instead of going to the bank. Shouldn't need to visit the bank for another week at least, I hope.

Well dinner is called, have a nice night everyone.

P.S. My fur shrug arrived from ebay, it is GORGEOUS!

Ok, so has anyone got a spare £12K they can lend me? :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

Have seen THE perfect house for us, fixed price, three bedrooms, en-suite, downstairs loo, bathroom, conservatory and we're not in a position to buy

I haven't even got my house on the market, we only need a 10% deposit, which to some people is nothing, to us, is beyond our reach, we couldn't even save that amount in a year! I am so mad at the amount of money I have wasted the last few years, I could easily have that amount in the bank, mad mad mad!!!!

Considered a loan, but that's just gonna get us in deeper and deeper and don't want to go down that route, so here's hoping the lottery comes up or something. This house is gonna be snapped up very soon and it won't be by us, boo!

On the plus side, I nearly went shopping today, but diverted quickly to my mum's for a cup of tea and a pancake, disaster averted, phew!
  • Swinstie - wicked news regarding the wedding and love the date! Couldn't get more memorable if you tried!

Congrats on the debt busting - truly spectacular. Getting into the habit of not spending is tough but satisfying.

MrGG has just hot footed it out the door with the dog in toe so there is def no need for me to move my butt from the sofa now.

Thanks Mrs GG, it's the final little bit of debt that's the killer though, I've already crept up slightly due to having a dodgy exhaust. Got my eye on a couple of items on ebay (yet again) but I am not going to succumb this time, it's nothing I need anyway.

Well, I have bitten the bullet and phoned an estate agent to get a valuation on my house, they are coming on Tuesday. I really really wanted that house I saw but know that it will be gone by the time I get mines sold, so decided that if I can get it on the market (depending on how much all this will cost that is), then whenever we do see another house, we can go for it. It might mean, me moving back to my mum's for hey ho if it's the only way to go then needs must.

I have done some cosmetic to the house recently i.e. painting around the light switches etc., but I will now need to do a major declutter so the house looks 'bigger' than it is. It's only a one bedroom but can look quite small when cluttered. Will give me the boost to get it in order, especially if piccies need to be taken anytime soon.

Got Zumba and Body Balance tonight, cba but as I'm going to miss it on Tuesday, suppose I better go., boo!

    Afternoon all,

Well £13.20 down today so far, latte, lottery money and lunch out! Got chicken out for dinner tonight but not sure what I can make with it i.e. stir-fry, grilled chicken with tatties and veggies etc.! Means a trip to the supermarket, also need petrol, OMG I am quite skint and only got paid a week ago, how the heck is that?!

Also need to find £425 by the end of October for my car insurance and weekend away money for November. I got the £180 which I had saved up for car insurance from my sister but that has been spent (or most of it), the good news is that I haven't been to the bank yet, could maybe get another week before I need to go.

Think I've maybe jumped the gun a bit with getting the house valued, goodness knows what the home report and estate agents fee will be, but I suppose I dont need to go ahead with actually putting it up for sale. A valuation would be good though to give us an idea of what we might get.

    Morning,

Well should be at the gym right now, but really could not be bothered! Had a restless night, tossing and turning trying to think of somewhere to hold a reception. OH has lots of guys from work he'd like to invite, even if I don't have much on my side i.e. hundreds of second cousins, if he invited 15 guys, that's really 30 people as you can't not invite partners, so we'd be creeping up in numbers again. Argh, really wish Barbados was happening, that way it would just be a family meal and/or night out on the town. I really don't want a load of people there during the day, I'm cringing already at the thought of saying vows in front of anyone.

Anyway, going to hop in the shower and maybe go out for a while, OH is working but will be down tonight. We've got a 30th party in two weeks and was thinking of getting something to wear, really don't want to spend anymore money though, so will have a look at what I've got. Which isn't much as I had a huge clear out earlier this year and don't have many 'dressy' stuff. Scared to wear the chiffon top I wore when asked when I was expecting, don't want that happening again, ha! Now I wish I had gone to the gym, ha!

    Hi Swinstie

Just caught up. I know you had your heart set on Barbados, but, is there no other exotic location for you to get hitched or is it too late now??

Ultimately, your wedding day is YOUR day!! Don't let your mum start pushing up numbers - the best thing to learn is "NO" and don't be afraid to use it. It will be the best weapon in your arsenal!

Im taking baby steps towards my debt as I said, I have now finished paying for my double glazing - Woo Hoo!!!

That means from this month (Oct) I will have a spare £202 per month to throw at my debts!!!!

Swinstie, don't fret too much about the house.... If it was meant to be, then you would be in a position to buy. Although you don't know it yet, it is not the house for you. Your house is out there somewhere, and you will find it.

Keep up the good debt busting effort. Im right there with you.

Sorry, I need to have a mini rant!

We picked 11/11/11 to get married because it is a Friday, also the Friday before we go on our cruise, Saturday doesn't suit, Sunday is Remembrance Day, didn't want a Monday to Wednesday (also my B'day is one of those days, ha) and the Thursday doesn't suit as we are leaving early for the airport the next morning! Someone started a thread about her friend getting married this day (I'm not the friend BTW) and that they wanted a poppy theme. Now we're not doing this, but if anyone wishes to wear poppies, that's fine. So many people are slating them for getting married because it's Remembrance Day!

Sorry but !!!!!! gives anyone the right to slate anyone for chosing this date??? Every day of the year will have some significance or something bad that happened, whatever happened to having a choice of where and when the F you want to get married! I've actually had it up to here with this flipping forum.

P.S. romylou, sorry for not replying to your post but I am really peed off with being made to feel bad for chosing a flipping date!

    Hi Swinstie,

Rant away - you choose the right day for you. Don't let others get to you. It's your day! I had a friend who got married on September 11th a couple of years after the New York event and it was a lovely day. They did nothing to make a mockery of the day and it was lovely wedding and celebration.

It's really hard - everyone seems to have an opinion when you are getting married. They seem to forget that it is the celebration of two people, in love, making a commitment to one another.

    Sending hugs

Urg is right, there are a number of dates throughout the year that mean something to someone, but that is your day!!!! Don't let anyone put you off.

How are the plans going by the way??
