Well, edinburgher I'm hoping the not so distant future of being debt free will be December like originally planned

That's wonderful - sure Christmas will be a happy one :)

    Evening all,

Well have just very nearly set my house on fire! Had something on the stove and had sat an oven glove near, was far enough away or so I thought. Could smell burning and went through to the kitchen and there was the oven glove on fire, eek! Luckily I was sat at the computer which is literally outside the kitchen so disaster averted. The moral of the story though, don't get distracted by the flipping computer when you are cooking!

Still not got the shoes , Shoe Gal but they are a blue satin peep toe - got a feeling someone is selling them either because they are fakes or they don't realise how expensive they are and I am going to get word saying a mistake has been made. Will keep you posted.

As for the dress NTBY, I'm a bit supersticious (sp?) to post a link, especially when I'm sure it's the definite dress. It's the Victoria Jane dress on the Coast website though if you want a peek! It's just below the knee and flares out so is very bridal looking. Gorgeous.

What a difference a few days makes, but looks like it'll be not far into the new year before I'm totally debt free, as I've been a bit spendy recently. In saying that, still got a dress to get refunded for and my dress and shoes will be paid for out of our wedding savings. Keep forgetting that, as I've already put them on my Visa. So might just do it, but giving myself til March 2011 as the absolute MAX time for paying it all off.

Sometimes it's hard to walk in a single woman's shoes - that's why we need really special ones!

  • Oh I agree, its stunning, and so perfect for a beach wedding! You decided on the ivory? It will look lovely with some attractive shoes and some dainty jewels!

Thanks girlies, yeah got it in ivory. It looks short on the website but sits just below the knee so is very classy and will obviously be cooler than a long dress - which I will still be going to try on!

Heard from the Louboutin ebayer yesterday, my shoes should be posted today! And, she has another pair on, so I reckon they are either fakes or else she just wants rid of them. I'm sorely tempted by the second pair. Had my eye on another blue pair (smaller heel) but forgot to bid and it'll be ended by the time I'm home tonight - can't get ebay on net at work, boo! Hope these ones are ok.

Only hoping, this Barbados thing works out, I'll be devasted if we miss getting the licence, boo, wish it was this November! Just gives me more time to save anyway.

Away to play with my spreadsheet and cry over not being debt free YET!

    Good one, I like it!

OH did suggest me in a bikini and him in his speedos, but I swiftly kicked that idea into touch :D

Been on the Weddings boards and all their ideas sound great, makes me wish (just a little bit), that we were having a 'proper' wedding but hey ho, this is what we really want to do. Can't even really plan a family meal til we are actually back (and hopefully married), it's quite exciting but at the same time, I like to get organised - hence the buying of dress and shoes etc.

If anything changes, the dress can be my 'second' one :D

Afternoon peeps, well I got my shoes today! They are definitely fakes, which I knew anyway however they are quite bad fakes, but I suppose when they are on your feet whose to know, unless they lie at my feet for a better look. They are a tad too big though, not sure if I'll wear them for my wedding, don't know why but it feels weird knowing they are fakes. Kind of wish I had only bid on them instead of paying £45, but at least the girl selling them didn't make them out to be genuine, so can only really complain for my own stupidity. Will post a piccie, they look lovely but not so in the flesh so to speak (and they smell), ha!

If I decide not to wear them, I won't rush into buying another pair, gonna take my time on this. Thinking now on purple shoes, as the fake flowers I like have lilac in them, decisions, decisions.

Here they are, piccie might be too small though! They probably will do actually, think I'm just disappointed they aren't real even though I knew IYSWIM :o If we're getting married on the beach, we'll probably be wearing flip flops or bare feet anyway I guess.

    Not too small now......
