It must be exciting setting up the account for wedding etc. It is good to have targets to help stay on track.

    Evening all,

What an absolutely glorious day it's been. Myself and OH went a walk up Dumyat in Stirling, this was supposed to be our goal once we had been walking for a while but haven't walked in ages as the weather hasn't been great. We started off and it seemed ok, had our supplies and stuff then Swinstie starts getting out of breath (blamed my hayfever), thought was going to have to turn back but with a few stops I managed it to the top. 800ft and 4.5miles up and what a view! The real reason I made it to the top was because everytime I stopped I was being overtaken my children and grannies!!! I was not going to be defeated after that. Planned to laze around once we reached the summit but the beasties were rather bad, even bug spray wasn't working.

Back down and straight to the pub for a pint of Guiness for OH and a pint of lemondae and blackcurrant for me, tasty. So another good weekend, only £2 spent + £30ish pount (on Visa) on petrol, crisps, water and rolls to make our picnic.

Getting hair cut tomorrow so will need to go and work out how much dosharoonis I have left. Enjoy the rest of the sun peeps x

Evening all, got a bit of the blues going on! Know exactly why, Ms Flo is due and I've been feeling like this just before her visit for a long time now. Getting a bit frustrated with OH, not in a hurry to book anything for the wedding, even though we have set a date. I know it's ages away but if we can't get the registrar, ceremony venue or reception venue on our date I'll be really upset. The date was picked because it was my mum and dad's anniversary of their wedding, 2011 would've been better as it would've been their 50th but it's just a bit too soon for us. If we had a house already it would be fine.

OH has been working a lot too, standby so needs to be done and I've been feeling very low and bored being home alone most of the weekend. He's standby this Friday and Saturday which will be great, not! Can't even ask anyone to do anything as I'm also very skint. On nights like this when I'm bored I'd be away at the shopping centre, even if only to window shop but I can't even do that as I'm scared of buying (on Visa) when I don't need and can't afford. No point leaving cards at home either as if I couldn't buy anything, I'd feel like I was wasting petrol IYSWIM.

Hate feeling sorry for myself, and I have no chocolate - what is the world coming to! I know it could be worse so I'm just going to count my blessings, make a cuppa and watch a bit of tv. A nice bath beckons I think. Hope haven't depressed anyone, I'll snap out of it soon x

Oh dear, dont I know that feeling!

Could you cook up lunch for a friend to come to yours? No more expensive than cooking for yourself and OH, and at least you're not alone.

    Hey Swinstie

Just though I'd pop in and say hi - good luck with the money. I too am very skint. I had to resort to using a little bit I had put aside for my CC overpayment. I'm trying to not use it all but payday is a week next Friday!!!!!!!!

Well done for not being beaten and reaching that summit. You should be very pleased with that (even if you did have to catch your breath a few times!).

Sorry you're not feeling great - sometimes being a bit low is needed. It gives you some thinking time! I hope you are feeling a bit more positive today!

I too have been doing some serious thinking. I really need some space and time to do it which definately won't be this weekend - we have 2 bbqs to go to!

    waving to you!

    urg x x

    Hi all,

Thanks NTBY and Urg, sorry for feeling sorry for myself though, I know people have worse things to bother about!

Anyway, I have a long weekend this weekend, off today and Monday, went to the dentist for my check-up this morning - £6, went to Matalan to find a white belt (at £3) but it wasn't what I wanted - need a white skinny belt to go with grey work trousers but will keep looking (for a cheap one of course), and also spent £31 in Tesco (on Visa) on food and a £10 top up for my mobile.

Have just sorted my finances and I currently have £15 in my purse and £12 in the bank. Also got 4 birthday cards (2 x niece, 1 BIL and 1 for Fiance don't ya know), all for the grand total of £2.60 - I love Card Factory.

Forgot to get niece's chocs in Tesco though and might have to give her an IOU on Monday (usually money in card) but it will only be two days til payday so sure she won't mind. As we need to set up the Wedding Account this month I won't be able to make much of an extra payment to my Visa, so after deducting what I should be able to pay, my total debt will sit at £5830, was hoping for under £5.5K this month but it's not going to happen.

I really need to get it paid off by March 2011 at the latest though as I spoke to the dentist today (didn't need anything done) about my two crowns I have, they both have slight gaps at the gum-line, being a tactful dentist he said this was age, that and the fact I got them done 1991 and 1999. So, for approx £700 - eek, I can get them both re-done and they would look a lot better. Again to do with age, my two front teeth have darkened slightly so my crowns stand out more IYSWIM, I hate the look in photos as you can really notice them. He said if I was a celeb I'd probably get the two crowns replaced and my two front teeth, but as I'm not a celeb (and don't have their money), the two replacement crowns will do. Phew what an essay!

So the bottom line is, I'd like my crowns re-done, think with one of them coming up on it's 20th birthday it's about time. I know I can do it, with a little bit of saving and not getting carried away with wedding arrangements.

Well, have a nice weekend everyone, the sun is shining here and my dinner is cooking away, starving! Need energy for housework later, ha!

A wee exciting update from me (I get easily excited), my total debt is actually £5615, not £5830 as I had taken my payment of £215 off to check my CC balance last month and forgot to add it back on! Yeehah! Ok so it's still not under £5.5K but it's getting nearer.

Now the not so good news, OH (still can't get used to saying Fiance or H2B, so OH it is), is working all weekend so I won't see him til Wednesday now. I was supposed to be going to his on Sunday but can't now. Suppose it gives me more time to get house in order, have already done bathroom and started on bedroom (just a bit of hoovering). Tomorrow after the gym it will be nose to the grindstone - looks like my £15 is going to last, fingers crossed.

    Have a nice night x

    Afternoon all,

Well managed the gym this morning, had a bit of toilet trouble, the actual toilet not my tummy! Wasn't flushing properly but think I've fixed it, OH said he'd do it on Wednesday but think that might've been too late, eek!

Got another engagement card today, was put through the door but no stamp, couldn't think who it was from. Turned out to be from one of the bosses who lives near me, it had more vouchers in it from one of the teams at work. I'm really gobsmacked, £230 of vouchers we got all in, can't believe it. Quite embarrassed actually. Also had got money from my Mum but we used that for dinner out a week or so ago. The vouchers will come in handy for the house when the time comes.

Half way through doing the bedroom, got the sheets etc., changed and now trying to find a home for all the clothes and crap that's lying about, better get back to it or I will head to the kitchen for tea.
