Morning all,
Well on holiday today, but it's peeing down so won't be doing too much i.e. going out spending money! Only 2 days til payday and I still have money in my purse, it's about to disappear now though as it's my niece's birthday today so gonna have to put some money in a card. Already got the card so just the money and box of chocs to get. Need to get my hair dyed later (I was called a badger earlier) as my grey stripe is getting wider!
Well have a great day peeps, gonna have a bit to eat then wash hair and get ready. A bit of tidying and that's me for the day x0 -
Ok, so talk about cutting it fine, was making carrot and coriander soup tonight but didn't have a vital ingredient - the coriander, go figure! Anyway between having to go out for that (along with bread, meat and yoghurts for work) and putting £10 in my niece's card today, I am left with the grand total of 15p in my purse! Just as well I have lunch sorted for tomorrow, ha! I will need petrol but that will go on Visa as usual. I really need to get back on budget as next month is busy with birthdays etc.
The good news though as that OH and I have decided to go ahead and get married on the cruise, it makes sense to combine it as we were going on the cruise anyway, no need for a separate honeymoon for instance. We will take the immediate family out for a nice meal once home and that'll be it, we can't be bothered with all the hassle of trying to please everyone. It hit home when my aunt and uncle came to my sister's tonight and even though they knew we got engaged, didn't even acknowledge it. And we (well I) was bothering about inviting them to the day event. Anyway sorry for the wee rant. And no it wasn't a present or even a card we were after, just a congratulations would've been nice.
Well going to make my soup tomorrow now, too late, think might have an early night. Night all x0 -
Morning all,
Well the bad news is..... the cruise is flipping fully booked for weddings! They only have six slots as the wedding has to take place on a sea day, they even checked the cruise before and after ours and they were fully booked too, boo!
So I think we are going to have to re-think, had an idea of getting married in Barbados when we arrive but not sure how or if it will work. We've decided not to plan anything i.e. book any venues here, as if we have to get married here, it will be the registry office - sorry that is common according to the latest Don't Tell The Bride witch - sorry wee rant there again - then a nice family meal. Not bothering with the whole shebang anymore as it's just going to turn into a circus. Who to invite, who not to invite, getting this, getting that, argh CBA with it all.
Phew, ok, calm now. Looks like will just be posting one day to say that's us married, don't know where, don't know when - exciting stuff!
P.S. Work is ok too and it's payday!0 -

Afternoon all,
Just a wee quickie before I head home from work, has been a funny week. I was off on Monday but feel like this week has been soooooooooo long!
Started my diet today by getting weighed down at Occ Health and will get weighed every 3 weeks, have even resisted shortbread someone brought in.
So, starting weight is 10st 1lb (less than I thought), aiming firstly for 9st 7lbs, so that's 8lbs to start with, have eaten melon with yoghurt, pea and ham soup with a bread roll, a plum and a banana and drank copious amounts of water. Still having my planned Indian tonight as not had a take-away for over a month. OH is working tomorrow and Sunday so will be a quiet and reasonably healthy weekend, once I actually buy some healthy food. No alcohol either so fingers crossed I see some results this time.
Have a good weekend all x0 -
Good luck hun - I will be dieting big style from next week, and trying to exercise so we can support each otherSometimes it's hard to walk in a single woman's shoes - that's why we need really special ones!Total debt @ Oct 2008: £29,226.42 Credit Card- £[STRIKE]7493.56[/STRIKE] - £7243.56Weightloss : 0/34lbs0

Hi Swinstie,
So sorry to hear about the cruise.
Yay to being less in debt than you thought! You are getting there!
I will also have to join you on the diet - we have not been very good with eating recently and I need to get back in control.
Urg x x0 -
Afternoon all,
We had our planned Indian last night, was delicious, one problem it must have been dodgy in some way as I have spent the last 12 hours or so being extremely ill. I will not go into details but I bet if I weighed myself right now I'd have lost a 1lb or 2, which is obviously not the best way to go about it. I also have put the kettle on for a cuppa and can't even face it, still feel ill. Think it will be water for me today.
Added to this lovely fact, the toilet is not flushing properly again - woe betide this is not my weekend. OH is working all weekend so I thought I'd crack on and get loads done, I have just got out of bed. Ok, starting to feel sorry for myself, so will just wish everyone else a nicer and better weekend x
ETA: OH is at work feeling fine, why do men have stronger stomachs than women??0 -
Morning all,
Was in bed at 9.20pm last night after a long day of being ill, still was being sick just before bed, boo! Watched SATC dvd with a bottle of water then read for a wee while before bed. Woke up this morning, feeling 95% better, have a slight headache, probably just de-hydration.
Apparantly there is a bug going around so it may not have been the indian meal after all, it has put me off them for a while though. Had some porridge and blueberries, my first meal since Friday and it's staying down. Gonna hop in the shower then go to mum's for a visit, really need some fresh air. Will eat lightly today as well as don't want to take any chances.
Haven't given my sister my insurance money since June, so I owe her June, July and Aug -£60, don't want to be short come October so will need to see what I can give her today. With eating lightly, shouldn't need much from the supermarket, maybe just bread but will need to get more stuff for OH coming down on Wednesday. I'm starting to feel like I'm living for next pay-day already and only just been paid last week!
Enough rambling, off for my shower so I can maybe feel 100%!0 -
Oh yes, the Delhi belly weight loss plan! Let me tell you, I've lost many a pound that way, it makes dieting seem like such a great option! I find plain rice will often stay down when nothing else will, hope you're feeling better. Last year I lost nearly a stone after some disasterous chinese food in Blantyre, Malawi. Never again!!!
Hope you're back to normal soon - how's the wedding planning?Mortgage free by 30:eek:: £28,000/£100,000Debt free as of 1 October, 2010
