Hi NTBY,
Yeah I tried the plain rice and it seemed to work, thanks! Feeling a lot better but still have tummy pains, probably the assault of eating normally again. Although I am trying to eat a bit better these days anyway.
Tomorrow before all my payments come off, already looking forward to my next months pay, that's really bad when that happens, but hoping to be under £5K by next month so another milestone to get to. Have a good day everyone, the sun is shining here, yeehah!

I don't think it's so bad to be looking forward to future pay when you're using it for something as sensible as paying down debtEach milestone is a reminder that you'll get to spend your money for yourself (and not to pay off the bank) in the not too distant future!

Morning all,
Well, edinburgher I'm hoping the not so distant future of being debt free will be December like originally planned. I've been re-working my figures and I know I said I wasn't going to pay off my loan BUT that still has until March 2012 to go to, so if I can be mega frugal I really think I could pay everything off, including the loan by December.
The last few months have been really tough so I have hardly set foot in any shop never mind clothes shops, not even spent much on food or going out. If I can keep this up til the end of the year it'll all go to plan.
Currently I have £2300 saved up which transfers into my other savings account which has £200, so that's £2500. I get a bigger wage in September, so if I make my payments as normal i.e. pay loads more extra to my Visa, my loan should be around £2,600 but if I pay it off early I'll save just over £100.
My Visas should be around £2500 and by the end of the year I'll have saved another £600, making these around £1900 which makes payments £630ish for Oct, Nov and Dec.
Sounds a lot, but I usually make payments of £400+, plus my loan of £150, and if forego my savings money this should clear it completely.
I still have wedding/cruise and the re-doing of my crowns to save for but if I start saving in January 2011, by Oct, I should/could have between £4500 and £6500 saved. Wedding savings £1500 for my share, crowns, £750 and cruise £2000. Ok, so maybe I'm scraping a bit but I'm positive it can be done.
Just looking forward to saving rather than paying out to debt. I will reduce my credit card limit also so I'm not tempted to spend again, although the cruise will have to be paid on this. Will have the money to pay it off though. Exciting times ahead, if anyone can make sense of the above that is!
ETA: I have Xmas money saved as well as car insurance and car maintenance money (MOT due in December)0 -
Evening all,
So disappointed tonight, my two dresses I ordered (simply beach style wedding dress), which were both the same dress and size but different colours, don't fit properly. Ordered then in a size 12 and one is more like a 14, fits but is a bit big at the bust and the other is too flipping small. I don't even think I could slim into it, it's more like a size 10. In saying that, I tried on a dress I wore 3 years ago (size 12) and it's tiny on me too, goodness I must have put on more weight than I thought. The problem is that I need to lose a bit of weight and tone up, but it doesn't look like I'll tone up enough to fit the dress. Tried to order a 14, out of stock. It's perfect too and was only £115! Obviously with 'trying' to marry in Barbados I didn't want a big weddingy dress.
Back to square one, although the second dress that does fit would probably do, only problem is, it's a pale pink. The other one was ivory and looked more bridal. Oh well, have loads of time to look, but really thought I'd cracked it with this dress. Boo!
In other news, made it to Zumba and Balance tonight and now every bone in my body is aching! Had some pasta and now gonna have a cuppa and head to bed. If I had coleslaw on Tuesday night, will it still be ok tomorrow? Forgot it was there and don't want to waste it!0 -
Evening all,
I am a very happy Swinstie, thought I'd call a few Coast stores to see if they had my dress in a 14 as I decided there was no way on earth I was gonna get back into a size 12, that was many moons ago now! One had a 14, so I scooted over after work and got it, it had a slight make-up mark so I got some money off also. And the good news is that it fits, I can actually get the zip up BUT I am still continuing with my diet as although it fits, it could fit better. I don't want it being too tight, especially if it (hopefully) is really hot.
I now need to return the other one, although something strange has happened. When I bought it, it showed on my Visa as a pending transaction and now it has disappeared, does anyone know what that means?! Was it a freebie dress?! Damnation that it didn't fit!0 -
Oh to be a size 14.... one day I'll get back there. For me it's where I looked best - curvy. Sadly even back then I thought I looked like a heiffer but now I would love to be there!
The dress sounds lovely - and such a good price for a potential wedding dress!
Swinstie - remember to pat yourself on the back for the achievements you have created. You forget so quickly how hard it is to get there espcecially when you are desparately trying to get to goal.
Hope you have a lovely weekend - am going away for a few days on Sunday - can't wait!

Afternoon all,
Thanks urg, I always seem to forget how much debt I've paid off, ok so it's taken two years so far to do it and it could've been paid off months or even years ago but it's happening now which is the main thing.
Well, had quite a productive day, been to Body Pump, spent an hour and a half talking to my sister who was semi moaning about her OH and his daughter! She basically gets all she wants but does nothing in return (she is 17) and he moans at her then panders to her and my sister tries to guide him but it seems to be going in one ear and out the other with both of them. Anyway, all they seem to do is argue and it's all over the daughter. I told her they are both as bad as each other and to not go to their house as often (she's up there most of the week) and leave them to it. She won't see what's going on so won't get annoyed about it i.e. her not helping with housework etc. I'm so glad my OH's son is 18 and standing on his own two feet, and has a job - daughter won't even get a job but is happy to get her 'pocket' money! She is still at school but most of her friends have part-time jobs, she's very lazy!
Anyway, onto my mum's where I had to sample a pear and white chocolate cheescake my sister made (the second dessert she's testing out for Christmas), it was flipping delicious. Hadn't had lunch yet though so felt a bit naughty. Had some tea with crackers and cheese then came home to hang out washing, out another wash on and I've also washed my front door and porch. Who knew that could take so long, been at it for an hour - most of the time was spent trying to run away from the spiders that popped out from every crevice, feels like I have something crawling on me right now
Phew what an essay. Oh and have only spent £2 today which was sponsor money for my niece. Have taken some home-made soup from freezer for a late lunch, maybe even early dinner. Gonna eat light today after being a glutton with the cheesecake. Well have a great weekend peeps, I'm going go and relax for a while (and check if dress has went on Visa yet), weird!0 -
Boo, just popped back on to say that the Coast dress has hit my Visa! Just as well it's going back, think will go into Glasgow next Saturday (if OH not working) and take it back to a Coast store, so my Visa is credited right away. Couldn't take it yesterday as the store I went to was a concession. We can then have a nice day out in Glasgow (weather permitting), as not been out for absolutely ages.0

OMG, I don't know what has gotten into me, I don't buy anything from ebay for ages and now I've just bought my third item in as many days!
Was looking for blue satin shoes as I decided they would be my something blue, managed to bag a pair for £45 including postage, probably could've got them cheaper as there were no bids and they started at £10 or £39 buy now. Decided to buy now as when I enlarged the picture, they were Louboutins! The listing didn't mention anything about it, now maybe they are fakes which is why they didn't say that's what they were, but what the heck, they are now mines! Only problem is, I have a severe case of vertigo and will probably break an ankle, so maybe I will have to wear blue flip flops and carry them around, ha!0 -
