Once you start reading a few reviews you start to get ideas for things you could write about. The main things I review are my son's toys and books as I can write quite a bit of my opinion about them rather than just describing them. I find it really difficult to review films and fiction books (apart from kid's books) as everything I want to say gives away too much information to anyone who hasn't seen/read it before. I watched 'The Orphanage' last night, and what a film !! I could write so much about my opinion of it but I would have to give away loads of the story, especially the end, in order for my opinion to make sense. I'll just be content with recommending it on here instead :p

Thanks for the advice NickyBo - I might give it a go next month see how much time I have on my hands. Might even wait till I move in my new house.

Ebay-I managed to make £15 which is £15 more than I've ever made on there.
    Dooyoo-£10

I'm really pleased with this, I've not had such a productive January before. I've also managed to get birthday presents for some people for later in the year. As well as the Ebay and Dooyoo money, I managed to make £17 on Butlins Bingo using the free daily scratch card and then occasionally buying one for £1 when my total was over £2. So a total of £42 for January.

    Saving for Christmas 2023 #15 £ 90/ £365
  • My update -

    dooyoo - £21.33
Even though I was past £20, I wrote another review an hour ago just so I could add it to the total for this month :)

    Ebay - £5 ish
Only listed a couple of items for 99p so I'm quite pleased. It's £5 more than I had before! I'm going to try to add more stuff to Ebay next month, but then I've been saying that for ages. Maybe this thread will give me the motivation!

I've also managed to spend much less than usual so just before payday my account looked far healthier than it has for a while (years!).
I got some great bargains in the after-Christmas sales too, so I think it's been a very successful and organised month :T

    Current Challenge - February 2010:

Ransack the cupboards and find any old mobiles and empty ink cartridges.

Check out the following sites to see where you can recycle them for the most money or loyalty points:

    Mobile Valuer
    Tesco Recycle
    Boot's Recycling

Remember: eBay might work out better value over all. Don't forget to see if any of the sites give extra cashback too.

    Two extra challenges:

Make £10 on dooyoo (because everyone seems to be going great guns with it)

Make £20 by cutting back somewhere this month. Either get off the bus a stop earlier to reduce your cost OR give up the magazines for a month OR don't buy something you really want but don't need OR any other great ideas you might have.

    Make £20 on eBay

Join in as much or as little as you want to. If you make £1 it's more than you had to start with so we're very proud of you too.

    Join us one and all.

    This will run officially from 1st February - 28th February inclusive. {If eBaying, make sure you deduct your postage, fees, paypal fees from your profit.}

Posted slightly early. Also posted on 2nd post.

    WTG everyone!!!

Here's to the next challenge - definately have no old mobiles in my house (have already recycled them through cashinmyfone plus quidco cashback - money comes quickly too, so I highly recommend them)

Will definately do dooyoo again, and will have to do ebay again.
