We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.

Oh, I'm sure..... Just been out in it.

But given the propensity of people on this site to (rightly) question anecdotal stories on certain "other" subjects......

I just checked the BBC weather report. And I can now confirm for certain that it is in fact snowing in Aberdeen.:rotfl:

    Yep its snowing alright!

We have what I can 'anti-snow'... thats the evil version of it when snow has began to melt, frozen over night, then new snow has fallen on top of it! Very dangerous!!!

We have some light snow, interspersed with sunny intervals. The temperature at 06.30 was -5C and still seems to be somewhat below freezing. There's no wind, so the Aga is enough to do the whole house during the day.

More snow overnight here, outside the road is still completely covered and very very icy.

It is absolutely freezing inside and out....I've now got several extra layers on to keep warm, took my wheat bag to bed last night and the quilts are doing their job in the front room.

My parents have lent me a halogen heater thing for the hallway where my cupboard under the stairs is (my base of operations for the computer), apparently they are very fuel efficient but will believe it when the bill comes in but everytime someone opens the kitchen door, it is like an artic blast coming through.

It doesn't help that I feel the cold more than most, handy in the summer when it gets really hot (I only get mildly heated while everyone else is at the passing out stage) but a begger in the winter.....middle son is alright (and in fact is sitting in the front room in just his boxers!) because he has his own little central heating, he even went out in a T shirt yesterday, I tried to get him to wear a jumper but he couldn't see why everyone was moaning about the cold and I didn't want to push it too much as he gets very aggressive if he gets hot but youngest has been complaining.

Next thing I have to try is to get the car out...eldest has offered to dig around it, as the two younger boys have a Chrismas party to go to organised by Mencap at 2.30 and they really look forward to it every year...plus it gives me 3 hours of quality time with eldest.

Thankfully we haven't had any more snow here. I'm hoping that's it (this time round). It was very windy here while it was snowing and outside my house it came up to my knees. So glad my front door doesn't open outwards, I'd have been stuck indoors with just a tin of Heinz tomato soup and a day past its best by roll for company.

  • Snowing heavily up here again, large band of snow across the whole of Scotland heading south.

England should see it this afternoon or tonight.
