I fell earlier, lucky hit head (already broken) and bum (VERY padded) so should be fine. Ruddy hurt though.
The partial thaw yesterday has made things more slippery this morning, but things are thawing out again now..probably uickly enough to me fully thawed in a couple of hours, but because its now damp in the air it feels MUCH colder: that cold dry is blissful, this cold dank is a bit miserable in comparison!0 -
Ouch LIR.....please make sure you are ok.
Just watched a delivery van trying to over rev it, skid and almost hit the line of parked cars outside...my car included!
My parents live 3 miles away and they have no snow or ice left at all!We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.0 -

When I had to go out on Saturday and Sunday and it was absolutely treacherous underfoot -I put a pair of socks over the soles of my boots - that gave me some stability when I walking - and I didn't slip at all on the ice.
Not very chic I know....
I'm dreading a thaw here because of the ice under the snow.
I just want to get up one morning and find that it's poured with rain all night and that it's all magically disappeared0 -
I'm back after a long day out, including an early trip to a car park in a nearby town where I had a rendezvous to collect a large free-range bird at 08.30. I'd never have gone that far first thing in the morning, but the farm it was coming from is on the edge of Dartmoor, so it was definitely a case of the lesser of two evils.
Anyway, on the way, I came upon my third accident of the week on the A377. This one was so confusing I'm not sure who was in it and who wasn't, but there were two lorries and four cars, including one that had gone through the hedge backwards and dropped into a field. The ambulance was there before the police and the latter, when they passed me, lights flashing, were going very slowly! Perhaps they were mindful of their colleagues in Cornwall.:o
There was a brilliant woman driver ahead of me who didn't touch her brakes at all in ten miles, and who seemed to know exactly where all the dodgy bits were.
I finished supermarket shopping by 09.20, but down here there isn't the same mad urgency I was used to in Bath,:p so there was plenty of everything and I was able to walk to an empty checkout at the end. I was briefly in Exeter Marks & Sparks at 5pm and they were apologising to people about selling out of some food lines, but I'm not sure what those were, as by that stage my eyes were glazing over......0 -
Couldn't get the car out today, thanks to an abandoned car which stopped me reversing out. Did try to walk to work, but I live at the top of a hill - 10% gradient on the road bit, 33% on the other slope if you skid off. Took a few steps and did an impression of a human toboggan and decided not to brave the rest of the slope. Was very happy to see a bus, haven't used one for so long I didn't know how much it cost or how I had to pay for it. All the time I could see the driver thinking "stupid moron". A happy stupid moron with no broken bits though. Please stay safe in the sun and learn the A-E of melanoma: A = asymmetry, B = irregular borders, C= different colours, D= diameter, larger than 6mm, E = evolving, is your mole changing? Most moles are not cancerous, any doubts, please check next time you visit your GP.

Glad there are no serious injuries viva.
Blooming cheek, leaving it there. Hope they get rid of it soon and set you free!0 -
The snow has finally reached us.'Just think for a moment what a prospect that is. A single market without barriers visible or invisible giving you direct and unhindered access to the purchasing power of over 300 million of the worlds wealthiest and most prosperous people' Margaret Thatcher0
