Congratulations on your wee one! Everyone tells me (especially my midwife friends) that you are more fertile after a miscarriage.
So many people have a natural m/c and then end up having to have a D&C anyway. If it happens naturally first, then it will be a relief instead of waiting.Father Ted: Now concentrate this time, Dougal. These

I think that is true,(not sure its been proved) i had my first mc, then had my period then got pregnant on my next cycle, unfortunatly had another mc, then had my period and again on my next cycle i found out im pregnant again. You do 'move' on but it just takes time and of course all along the line you will have reminders off what happened.
I wish you all the best with whatever you decided0 -

I am so sorry to hear your news. Take time to recover and give yourself time to grieve. I'm glad you have some friends to cry on.
I hope you and your family have a better 2010 who knows we may end up pregnancy buddies later this year when we are both feeling better.

Hi Rosie
I am so sorry to hear your news.
A very similar thing happened to me in that I had a missed miscarriage, only discovering this at 12 weeks when we had just thought it was a safe time to tell everyone we were expecting. I bled for a few days and was sent for a scan and was told the baby had died at around 6 weeks. They took me in straight away for d&c which was the best thing I think as it got it all over with. This was our first child, conceived after some fertility treatment as I have polycystic ovaries. I felt so wretched I told my husband I didn't want to try to get pregnant again. A couple of months later we went on holiday abroad and when we got back discovered I was pregnant. We now have a beautiful 15 yr old daughter and our son is just coming up for 12. I think things were obviously not right inside and I just needed to have a good 'spring clean' to get things going again.
I am sure things will turn out the same for you.
Sending you love and hugs

Mother Kitty. I am so glad you ended up with 2 children. I was just saying to my husband the other day, that it would have been so much worse if, for example, we had had our last chance with IVF and then lost the baby. It must be devastating to be in that position. My situation just doesn't come close. Even though this was very much a longed for baby, I am already blessed with 2 beautiful girls which makes the sadness much easier to bear.
Thanks once again everyone for your support. For some reason my 'thanks' button doesn't seem to be working!!!!
I am waiting to see when the hospital can book ,me in for a D&C. I have been waiting since Thursday, it now looks as if it will be Wed or Fri at the earliest. I think they aim to offer the surgery within 48 hours, but I'm not getting offered anything at the mo. Thank God I am feeling OK physically. I just want it to be over so I can get on with things.Father Ted: Now concentrate this time, Dougal. These

big hugs coming your way.
i agree with the being fertile after you miscarry when i found out i was pregnant with my son i had miscarried 3 months before so i do believe that to be true.
but now i have pcos and haven't had a period since august 2008 but have my next appointment next month so fingers crossed something good will come from it!

I also will agree with being more fertile after a miscarriage - when trying for DS2 it took 8 months to get pregnant then I miscarried at 6 weeks had one period and was pregnant again. With DD I had been trying for 15 months when I fell pregnant miscarried at 12 weeks and was pregnant agin within 3 months.
My Sister in law said something I found very comforting to me after DS2 was born. That without that miscarriage I would never have had Owen.0 -
