Let's get the Cap One side of things sorted first Yan and then we can move onto the Halifax.

Couple of quick questions though, what sort of Halifax account was it? Was it a proper current account with cheque guarantee card or a basic cardcash type account? Also do you currently consider yourself to currently be in financial hardship?

    Hi.

No, I don't consider myself to be in financial hardship and the Halifax account started off as a proper current account with a cheque book etc but then as I had financial problems it was changed to a basic cardcash account which had a small overdraft facility.

    OK Thanks Yan,

I am still working on your Capital One situation.

  • Hi Yan,

I finally managed to get hold of Tim at RH this morning.

He explained that, contrary to what Rachel Howey has advised you, RH have not received the cheque from Capital One in respect of your settlement. He is attempting to resolve this matter with Capital One today.

This sort of situation is not unusual with Capital One, departments within the Company do not appear to talk to each other.

However, Tim appreciates the position that you are in and that this situation does not reflect well upon RH so he has promised me that he will sort out some form of interim payment for you today with the balance to follow as soon as he finally resolves the matter with Capital One. I also suggested that he should consider making a higher settlement with you than is usual for RH, in addition to just a straight return of charges, to compensate you for the hassle and inconvenience and delay that you have experienced in getting this matter resolved.

You should hear from Tim later this afternoon, please let me know if you do not and I will follow up with him again this evening.

    Rgds Budgie

    Hi.

I've had a call from Tim Russell at Robertson Holbrook about a hour ago. Tim has taken my bank details and said a BACS transfer will be made with an interim payment of the amout I was owed. Also that he had met with the directors and he would try to sort out the interest that would have been owed from August up until now and forward that to me too as a good will gesture!!

    RESULT!!

Thank you very much Budgie, I don't know how you've done it but it's worked!

    Hiya Budgie.

No I did not get the money. I tried to call RH today but they are closed till the 4th Jan:mad:

  • OK Thanks Yan, I will give Tim a call in the morning to check and see if and how he has made the BACS payment.

If he has broken his promise there will be hell to pay.
