Standard Life Shares

I thought about it a couple of days ago when they went up to 3.33. Wish I'd done it then, let alone at 3.50! Oh for hindsight!0

I was thinking that a little myself but it seems the whole market went down today so that eases my mind as if it was just Standard Life going down then I'd think there was something wrong but as it is I'm hopeful it will get back up there again. It's not nice seeing it down below £3 though  as it's the first time in a long while it's been that. Any ideas why the FTSE plummeted a bit today?

Something I read on a website said "U.K. stocks dropped, paced by insurers after Legal & General Group Plc said flood claims and a slowdown in Britain's home market held back first-half profit". Don't know if that helps, I'm afraid I don't know anything about stocks and shares. Only have mine because of the de-mutualisation of Standard Life.0

shares are a long term investment so they say i dont plan to sell mine in the near future .I've also got some friends provident shares and i had thought of selling them a few months back and now they've dropped again.0

A little bit irritating therefore that the free shares were not allocated for a week or so after they were issued - in which time the share price was starting to move. If you had a holding and were going to receive the free shares you'd want to have them all on the one account. But there will be a recovery alongside the FTSE when it moves up - it may just be more gradual than in the first half of the year.I thought about it a couple of days ago when they went up to 3.33. Wish I'd done it then, let alone at 3.50! Oh for hindsight!.....under construction.... COVID is a [discontinued] scam0 -

Thanks for that 10_66 - That may indeed have something to do with it.david69 wrote:shares are a long term investment so they say i dont plan to sell mine in the near future.
I agree - I'm not ready to panic yet and will definitely be holding on to the shares as I do feel they will ease their way back up again.
