Request for refund for Christmas tree (soil!)

I would try ringing them - maybe someone will be in to handle your complaint over the weekend. They may not be very good at handling emails or simply be inundated with orders/emails.0

Should I sent the email again, incase they didn't get it, or give them two working days to respond? The longer it takes them to reply, the less likely I'll be able to get a replacement Xmas tree.
Perhaps just get a refund. Your husband doesn't want a tree and your baby is far too young to notice or care.I was born too late, into a world that doesn't care

Why can't you cut it? it would take a matter of seconds to do, if you can't do it then surely your hubby or a friend/neighbour could manage, then problem solved and everyones happy

Maybe SHE wants a tree, as she is perfectly entitled to do so.
What is with some of these comments? I hope you get it sorted out OP in time for Christmas."There is no medicine like hope, no incentive so great, and no tonic so powerful as expectation of something better tomorrow." - Orison Swett Marden0 -

I've put lights and tinsel up in the house and it looks nice, and I've got a snow covered tree in the garden, so it isn't too bad. I would like a refund though! Fingers crossed they'll reply to email before Xmas!Stay-at-home, attached Mummy to a 23lb 10oz, 11 month old baby boy.0 -

Yesterday as in Saturday ?
Alot of places are closed at the weekend.0 -
If it wasn't due to the fact that you had a post count of nearly 10,000 I'd think you were a troll. Go on, own up, say somebody hijacked your pc and posted your thread. Say your husband did it for a laugh. You will keep your credibility that way.;)

I'm happy for them to collect the item, I won't be using the item as it isn't suitable.
Was the top two feet folded over in the packaging?
I am suggesting you could've refused to accept the tree when it was delivered because it was the wrong size.0 -
No reply to email, so I gave them a call. Lady said that I really should give them more money, because the 6ft tree is worth more than the one I was supposed to get! Refund not an option, nor is collection - but I could buy a new tree from them. Phoned Consumer Direct, who said I am entitled to a refund so I've sent another email (and will follow up with recorded delivery letter) and shall wait and see.
A bit off topic, but does anyone know if it is possible to send a recorded letter without going to the post office?Stay-at-home, attached Mummy to a 23lb 10oz, 11 month old baby boy.0 -
Yes but you will have to get a recorded delivery book from the post office first, and recorded slips or labels and arrange for an uplift which will cost a lot extra. This will take ages even if you phone to order the paperwork from their business line.
I think you are very possibly entitled to a refund under distance selling legislation though. The truth may be out there, but the lies are inside your head. Terry Pratchett
