Switched on my pc 10 minutes ago to be met by the "Windows has significantly changed since it was last activated..do you want to activate now...you have 3 days blah blah etc" pop up. No new hardware or anything else other than songs into the media library have been added so don't know what prompted this message.
I built this pc just over 4 weeks ago (26th May after just looking at my first batch of windows updates) and this is the 3rd time (!!! !!!) I've had this message..so if I activate again it will be the 4th time!
Anyone know what the heck is going on?
Thanks Dan.

Hi
This happened to me the other week, I was surprised as well, as its never happened before, but I had done a restore of a backup, and I presumed it was this.
Anyway just did the activation again and alls fine, although it is a bit of a pain.
Hope this helps
PS Perhaps they think all Mancunians are using illegals................0 -

Hehe :rotfl: probably!
Mine's definitely genuine, it's just so weird - I think I only ever saw that "activate" message once before on my old xp pro pc that I ran for almost 4 years, yet this new pc and xp home it's the third time now in 4 weeks!
Just activated it again anyway - no problem - but still annoying nonetheless.
What I want to get to the bottom of is what's causing the false "not genuine" message? Or could it be just another Microsoft !!!!-up?:rolleyes:0 -

If Genuine go back to PC vendor, If no PC vendor phone MS they are extremely helpful.0 -
Oh it's a genuine disc, only a month old but this will be the 4 or 5th time it's asked for reactivation now.
I tried ringing Micrsoft earlier but was on hold 15 minutes - I'll give them a call and see what they say, I don't want to have to be re activating the damn thing every week! (Or like today-TWICE in one day!).0 -
Am going to activate over the phone this time so I can speak to a customer service rep.....0
