Morrisons refuse to refund unopened Champanges

No there is no additional rights other than SOGA anything above that is at the stores discretion. That is why the Op made the mistake first time because they assumed because they got refund at Tesco's that " expect similar service at Morrisons"Shops must conform to the SOGA. Shops can also offer additional rights to those. If something is exempt from those rights, then it should be stated in their T&Cs, or a disclaimer included in the notices for the additional rights. However, my previous experience on refund with Tesco was so easy. That made me expect similar service at Morrisons.0

What additional rights are you referring to exactly? There is no right to return goods merely because you have changed your mind unless of course the store specifically states you can which is not the case here, you are clearly misunderstanding the situation.
That is what I mean, when a store offers specific additional rights.
There isn't a right under the SOGA to return goods just because you've realised they are the wrong colour etc. But, as I said, stores offer additional rights, like Argos for example. They also have exemptions from those rights which are clearly defined.
As I said, the OP's situation would depend on the T&Cs of Morrisons at the time of purchase and not just on the SOGA.There's a storm coming, Mr Johnson. You and your friends better batten down the hatches, because when it hits, you're all gonna wonder how you ever thought you could live so large and leave so little for the rest of us.0 -
Blimey you lot are punchy tonight!
FWIW I took back 11 bottle of Cava to Sainsbury's that I'd bought 2 weeks before.
They refunded with no quibbles at all and it didn't occur to me that they wouldn't. I don't think it's an unreasonable thing to expect given the level of service and enhanced refund policies that most supermarkets operate under (and yes I'm familiar with the SOGA).Piglet

I'm on the vino tonight. If the OP would like to send 3 bottles of champagne to mine, for a good price, I might be willing to pay. :rotfl:There's a storm coming, Mr Johnson. I would never want to buy wine or any foodstuff that had been returned by another customer. Bottles with corks are just too easy to tamper with.0

Oh dear a drunken female
Are we all invited to this vino session?
Of course, but it's 'bring a bottle'.There's a storm coming, Mr Johnson. You and your friends better batten down the hatches, because when it hits, you're all gonna wonder how you ever thought you could live so large and leave so little for the rest of us.0 -
I like the way the OP accepted the advice he was given with reasonably good grace.
Then got a load of abuse.
Merry Christmas everybody!0 -

Going by their website it seems the OP should be able to take the goods back. There are disclaimers, like frozen foods etc, but there is no mention of alcohol. There's a storm coming, Mr Johnson.
