Hope all your completions happened as they were meant to and you're happy in your new homes for Christmas! Spare a thought for your solicitors & their staff who hopefully made it all happen - the firm my mum works for had 102 completions today, and she left home at 7am to walk 6 miles through the snow to her office as couldn't get the car out, and knew they couldn't cope without her (she's in the accounts dept). My dad's also a conveyancing solicitor and has had a stupidly hectic day at work, and it's his birthday. So please all be grateful for the work that's gone into getting you those keys today!0

Oh I do, and I'm sure all of the other guys out there waiting for their houses to be sorted are very grateful too.
Thanks to all you sols and your staff who have made this happen!

We completed this afternoon! Had to send my husband out to pick up the keys as I am recovering from a lithotripsy to break up a kidney stone (had this done yesterday)...can't wait to see the house again! We haven't been inside since JULY when our offer was initially accepted.
We are moving over the course of this weekend but my husband had a look and all looks okay inside. Sellers left us a nice note and bottle of wine (very thoughtful) along with a phonebut everything else has been removed, just the way it should be.
Congratulations to everyone else who completed today!0 -
We exchanged today and are due to complete on Monday.
Am so jealous of everyone who completed today, Congratulations and good luck in your new homes.
Can't wait till Monday!
Have a lovely weekend
P.S Littlesnuggy - I will be writing our solicitor a glowing email of thanks and sending it to her and her manager - she's been fab! Happy Birthday to your Dad too.0 -
We're due to complete tomorrow and I'm getting really nervous/excited now. We've had loads of snow here over the last few days and everything's ground to a halt so being curious I checked the weather in Manchester (where our solicitor is based) and they are getting heavy snow tonight and tomorrow and now I'm really worried she won't make it into the office and so we wont complete!0

Im due to exchange later today & complete tomorrow!! Only viewed the house 1st on 28th november so its all happened VERY fast! I havent sold my flat yet so no rush to move in, plenty of time to sort everything out...getting excited now but will be happier when I have the keys in my hand!0

We exchanged on Friday and complete on Wednesday - talk about cutting it fine!Don't worry about typing out my username - Call me COMP(Unless you know my real name - in which case, feel free to use that just to confuse people!)0

We haven't exchanged yet and my solicitor keeps telling me we can't complete in time. I asked him about "Substantial performance" and he said the bank would not give us the money. Upon calling the bank they said it would be fine... This stumped the solicitor who will put the contracts together for immediate signing... Aren't we paying THEM to come up with all this??0

Hello all...especially Laughing Cow!!
I completed on Friday and moved the same day....despite the heavy snow and the removal men being 2 hours late (panicking slightly!) lol.
I am now the proud owner of a lovely brand new spanking home.
Congrats to everyone else who completed on Friday and hope you all have a very merry christmas and an even happier new year :T0
