    Part of the Furniture
We were due to complete last Friday, then Monday, then Tuesday, then Wednesday and then the SOL rings me at 5,45pm and says everything really is all set for tomorrow with completion Tues 22nd!! I've been going mad all day thinking is it every going to happen - and I'm usually pretty laid back.

When the house first went on the market in May and offers and chains sorted in September, little did I think I would be moving three days before Christmas!!!

But at least we are lucky to have a buyer for our house, and moving to a house we really want. And in a couple of months this stressful time shall all be forgotten!
  • Hello all!

I exchanged yesterday and I have been told I am definetly moving tomorrow! I cannot wait!!! :-)

Still will only feel 100% happy once the key is in the door. Lol

Anyone else had similar good news? Laughing cow what about you?

    Hi all

Just to update you, Mum's sol rang today and said they have exchanged this am with a view to complete on Monday - date is set in stone!

I think Mum is just pleased that she knows she is packing up and storing everything for a reason i.e. that the sale will happen before Christmas. So she and Dad are with me for about a month and then moving into our other house before we try and market that for sale - it's like musical houses!!

Good luck to the rest of you still waiting!

Wagesbird - pleased it's all going through - at least Exchange means things are moving - as well all know it takes a lot to drop out after Exchange so it does mean 99% of people stick to it!
  • Congrats to those that have managed to exchange and will complete before christmas. I found out yesterday that we have no chance of exchanging or completing before the year is out due to the ineptitude of our buyers 'conveyancers' (CountryWide Property Lawyers) who have lied and stalled so much we will now have a £1600 stamp duty bill to pay because of them.

And we still dont have a date in January to exchange or complete either.

We are due to exchange today (hopefully) or tomorrow, I keep waiting for a call or an email to let me know it's been done!

Wagesbird - congrats! Good luck with the move tomorrow, hope your not in a part of the country that's expecting heavy snowfall!

I'm exactly the same with ours, exchanged last week, completing tomorrow, text from Natwest on Wednesday confirming the completion date, call from solicitors today saying mortgage from Natwest had all been transferred and in their account ready for tomorrow..... but I still won't be relaxed until I have the keys!

    Hey Wagesbird,

Just heard that all should be going through ok, the problem with the storage cupboard is sorted out - it looks like no one has used it for many years, the roof is a bit iffy but otherwise they have managed to put a new lock on the door so we have the only access.

Our sols is in the process this minute of exchanging, and all looks ok for tomorrow! The mortgage funds have been taken (according to the online thing) and so just packing to be done now!!

Glad to hear yours is all sorted now Wagesbird, good luck with the move! Like you, I won't feel happy until I have the keys but at least things are moving along.
