It's easy to give in to that negative voice that chants "cant do it" BUT we lift each other up.
We dont count all the runners ahead of us & feel intimidated.
Instead we look back proudly at our journey, our personal struggle & determination & remember that there are those that never even attempt to reach the starting line.

No, no, not a roasting, I'd just like to see Snaggs decide what she wants rather than him determining what the relationship is or isn't.

So he's decided that he can have the bits of a relationship on tap as and when required.
Are you happy to just accept it for what it is then or do you cut off all privileges to see if that makes him see that he does want you? Because while he still has you on demand there's no reason for him to make his mind up is there?

What do YOU want to do?

I know it's not the perfect relationship, but we have talked and talked, and been very honest, and we are both happy with how things are now.

The whole theme of our conversation yesterday was that we don't necessarily have to play by the rules, and fit the relationship into a comfortable box that can be easily understood by the rest of the world, as long as we are both clear about what is happening, and are both happy with it.

It does sound as though I am letting him have his cake and eat it, so to speak, but I'm not sure there's anything wrong with that if it makes me happy too.

Time will tell, and I might not always see it this way, but if and when the time comes that I am unhappy about it, we will talk about it again - it's not a closed subject. :)

Don't worry, I completely understand where you were coming from.

But it was very much a joint decision, there was no pressure or coercion, we discussed all the options, including the possibility of it being a more conventional (platonic) friendship, so that there would be no question of him 'having his cake and eating it'. He said if that was what I wanted, he would accept that completely.

But that isn't what I want. It is very obvious he doesn't see me as a cheap sh*g, and I don't see him that way either (I was touched by how important this is to him). It's not the usual way people express their friendship, but it feels right to both of us. I don't feel used by him, and I do feel cared about, and that's the most important thing.

I do appreciate that you care though. :)
