Oh! can someone help me out with an idiots guide to cornbeef hash please?(remember it's me that will be making it and I'm a rubbish cook!) My DS2 had some at a friends house the other day and now he wants me to make it. I would really like to as he is a fussy eater and it sounds as if it is quite good.

Mmm yes a cuppa might help warm my cold hands - heating still off during the day when the kids are not here. Also as I'll be in the kitchen think I'll "clean" my hobs again by turning all the rings on :rotfl:

Well little things and I need something to cheer me up as Amazon have emaild to say DH's prsent parcel has been lost and they will re order   fingers crossed its here in time as he hasnt got anything else.

Ooooh it was freezing up there (a good sign Dusty??!). I've thrown an old pillow out (that I wouldn't even give the dog so why was it up there?), a bag of rubbish (obviously a case of 'CBA to go through this so i'll shove it in the attic'). Also recycling a realm of paper that had something spilt on it and I've sorted a bag for the charity shop though I'll get DH to look through and make sure he doesn't want to keep the stuff. If he wants to keep it all then next time I won't ask!!! Also got rid of a load of cardboard boxes for things that we don't even have anymore! I'll do another bag tomorrow.

I found some lovely pictures of DD at her first and second birthday. That was nice!

I'm going to sit down till 2pm then do a HHC xx

I'll be fine.. think it may just be that AF was supposed to arrive yesterday and has hibernated for a few days.. Bet she arrives christmas eve.. was christmas DAY last year.. a few days late!!

Corned dog hash.. (lazy Pigpen method)

1 large tin corned dog chopped into inchish cubes
    1 large onion chopped small
3 carrots.. sliced diced or whatever
half a dozen potatoes or so.. chopped into 1 inchish cubes
gravy granules.. I use about 3-4 tablespoons and taste it when it is almost done and add more if needed.
1.5 pints water.. add more or less as you see fit.. depends how thick you want it really

Chuck whole lot in a pan or slowcooker and cook until the potatoes are soft

Sometimes I add more corned dog a bit before it is done so it has some chunky bits

and I use 2-3 times what is listed here..

I make sure ALL the potatoes are out before freezing excess though as they are disgusting when thawed.

And why I have run the thread for over 2 years.. because I need to be here just as much as anyone else!! I also know just how demoralising and overwhelming it can all be and just how much difference it makes to see some level of progress.

I also have more people living in my house than .. can I say 'everyone' here??? There are 9 of us here.. plus 6 cats, 2 rabbits and 3 fish..

but I have got VERY good at throwing stuff out.
That's what I like - a leader to guide us not a boss sending orders down from on high.

    HHC at 2:00pm anybody?
