The Princess got out of bed at 11:30, so we shared an early lunch (me) and very late breakfast (her
). I'm setting her onto present wrapping detail next, then we're out posting cards and visiting a friend :T

Any idea where I can get a decent 1000+ piece puzzle? I found a couple of nice ones on line @ natural collection, but I've left it too late as they won't be delivered before Christmas... and I need something to keep everyone occupied! (no children... just lots of (supposedly) grown ups!)0

Hex, Dusty - do you put ash in your compost? Or would it be good for digging into clay soil? I guess I need to do some research... I know my dad puts it round fruit trees...
Wood ash contains potash (potassium) which is needed for seeds and flowers. We've noticed a huge improvement in our fruit trees since we started sprinking wood ash around tree roots
Coal ash may well contain toxic heavy metals so should be chucked.

Thanks. I'll save it when I know I've just been burning wood... and I'll use the coal ash for cleaning... do you think I could use it to clean the bath:p:rotfl:

Erm... I think you need the context in this post...I assume you mean the compost heap... not the bath :rotfl::rotfl:

I'm such an idiot. I was going to do loads of flying today, but forgot my meds yesterday and only found out today when I went to take today's dose. So I'm really really really dizzy as a result. Sitting on the sofa is almost too much! Might have to go back to bed.
DH is home today, job hunting and he's going to sign on later. We are at the lowest point we have ever been money wise, as his work has died down for the winter. He's just popped out to the bank as we have managed to scrape together some cash to put in there for the rent, the rest of the rent is going on the last CC we have that's not maxed out. Things will get better when spring arrives hopefully if people aren't suffering too much because of the recession and can afford to get work done again.
Sorry to come on here and just moan, the only flying I've managed to do today is hang out the washing."Snowflakes are one of nature's most fragile things, but just look what they can do when they stick together."

had quite a productive morning making phonecalls and doing emails that I've been putting off for weeks.
My second cousins in law (I think) cant make it for Boxing day as they are heading up North, and I am really quite relieved! Boxing Day is now FREEEEEEEE
Managed to speak to the Parenting Course people at our children's centre, I was booked on a bog standard parenting course in January but was worried that it wouldnt be appropriate with the issues DS has, so after a big chat with the lovely lady I am booked onto one in March for Additional Needs, which includes a "dealing with your feelings" session and has 2 extra sessions at the end for ADHD which is what I think DS has (in my expert medical opinion from the internet and books . Hospital will confirm/not in Jan). I am feeling MUCH better now that I have a proper plan, I really didnt think that other course was for me.
Going to do lunch now for me and DD2, get her down for sleep then veg and watch telly with the laptop for a bit, enjoying the peace before the storm begins on Saturday!Jan GC: £202.65/£450 (as of 4-1-12)
