  • Bit of a stressful morning here, rent is due which is always a worry. DH's work has died down for the winter and he's owed money by a customer too which doesn't help.
On a more positive note, I'm off out for coffee with a friend in a mo, going to stop at post office on the way to post an ebay sale and a letter for DH, so I'd better get dressed and get ready. DH gave me the letter twice yesterday without the address on and I kept giving it back to him and he didn't know why! Eventually I pointed out to him that the PO wouldn't know where to send it! :rotfl:

I've started the WM and put away dry washing up that DH did, and when I get back from coffee I need to do lots of tidying and stuff - I'm very tired today after a busy few days but will do my best to get things done, the place is a pit so it really needs some attention!

Ajmoney, wrap most of it up in bubble wrap then use a black bin liner to wrap and seal. It's waterproof and labels will easily stick to it.
Cut the binbag up as you see fit, I've wrapped three smallish items up this way, saves a fortune in jiffys and boxes!xxxxx
I've sent stuff in bin bags before now! One of the parcels was to Soappie earlier in the year and I let her know that if she opened it carefully she would have a free bin bag! :rotfl:

Pay credit card bill – just realised I’m late so with be charged £12 late fee!!! Am sooooo cross with myself
Set up direct debit for said credit card
Need to try and book waxing – can do my legs but the bikini line is impossible to do now after my accident and my manky chrome elbow

Find out what time midwife appointment is on Tuesday so can inform work when I need to leave
Fill in next years calendar with birthdays etc – as I never remember to
Sort out what I’m wearing for DH’s xmas do on Saturday
Throw myself on the sofa in a heap and stare blankly at the tv screen for at least an hour!

Wilf - no wonder you have no energy! Will join you for a coffee

Good grief I was thick last night, was getting all smug as I had no attic – then it hit me: WE HAVE A LOFT YOU THICKY!!! LOL. Anyway DH was up there on Sunday to get the tree and lights, he assures me that it’s tidy. Will have to take his word for it as I never ever go up there

Mudders - if you haven't EVER had the thought of wanting to/needing to make stuff that requires a sewing you ain't gonna get the full use out of it and it will be shoved somewhere gathering dust IMHO!

Poohb I have an ancient Bernina - sorely in need of an overhaul bought it in a 2nd hand place about 15 years ago and have made curtains galore/moses basket linings/blinds on it. I'm not good at clothes - saying that I haven't tried, last thing I made was a cheesecloth skirt at school in 1978!!!! Took me all term!! LOL

I am a teensy bit jealous of your Bernina. Regarding clothes, start with something easy like a skirt. Ask me anything you need help with and I will do anything I can to help. I would enjoy doing it. Prima mag often has easy patterns in the back. I will watch out for you:) If youare interested.

  • Eeewwww Jinky not a pleasant thing to do!!! Breathe through you mouth as the smell won't be as bad
Poohb - when I get organised and more settled I may indeed drag it out and make summat, thanks for the help of assistance, will shout you when I need you!!

Just having my coffee with the back door ajar and the heating on, why I hear you ask are you doing that? It's because of the bleach fumes from bleaching the bathroom went OTT in DD1's opinion!!!! House reeks of it, but the bathroom is sparkling and even the grout is white again!

Just stopped, lots of junk cleared from our bedroom. It all got dumped in there as part of the weekend building works.

DW is on, recycling is out. Just having a quick cup of coffee before I start again.

The recipe is from the Tesco Christmas magazine that you pick up in store. If you havent got one /cant find one I'll write it out for you. Although I think it needs some adapting. I could not get the sugar to dissolve into the condensed milk and butter and in the end kept adding water for it to dissolve into in the hope that the excess water would boil off. Thankfully it was successful. If I had to make it again I think i would make a sugar syrup in the microwave first then just boil it together. It is delicious tho :D.

    Did the fire stay in?
Even for something that delicious-looking I'm not going to tesco:eek: so if you could type it up it would be appreciated. Then we can both test it and try to perfect it ;)

Fire stayed warm all night, but I let it go out as I had to go to the gym and didn't have time to deal with it this morning. Plus I don't have an ash can, so need to let it out to get the ash out! something else to add to my list... but not till after my birthday

Snowing here too, and I need to go out soon.

On the positive side, I've just about got the fire going, and the tree is up with lights draped over it (don't see the point in trying to fix them, it just hurts!)

    Parcel nearly ready to post.

Helpdesk called about stupid database that I've finally got access to only to discover it won't work
