This is their latest reply which I just got today.. My parents and sister are going nuts saying I should have paid them from the start because they saw how much it's gone up to! But I'm going go to stay strong and keep to what you guys say!

That's the idea. Have you shown your parents and sister this forum? The more people who understand this scam the better!
Expect one more "final warning" letter from G. White before they give up.

This is the actual link. The usual threatogram.

As somebody pointed out on CAG this morning, Graham White (AKA Sobell) threatened to take them to court "within seven days". That was months ago, and still no court appearance. So another empty threat, which some people could construe as demanding money with menaces.

Two of the costs on that letter, "Warrant Issue Fee" and "Solicitors Costs for Issuing Warrant" would only ever apply after a court made a judgement AND you didn't pay the judgement on time.

Most people (like your parents and sister) will get worked up: that is why these letters work. They force people into wanting to pay up.
  • Hi again everyone! Just want to let everyone know that it's been about 9 months now and I have not heard anything from them since my last post!

Thanks greatly for all your help and advice!

When I have the time I will upload all their letters so that other people will not be victims to their parking fine system!

    ..and thanks again!

Great to see your update, and thankyou in advance if you do upload some scans.

Have your parents and sister stopped going nuts and realised you were right to ignore the scam now? Hope so, spread the word every chance you get!

I think they kind of gave up about fussing over it, but still don't believe it's a scam and just think I got lucky, but unfortunately my luck has run out yet again!!

Just received another parking ticket in the same place, but this time by Vinci parking group and well I chose to ignore it, but again the worries are starting to pile up.. I would post the ticket up I received, but I'm away and not back home till next Tuesday.

I'm planning to ignore it, but because I already been caught once by the NCP and the solicitors. Does this mean I'm on their record and this time round I will be ummm screwed royally..? :/

    Not good.

    Will appreciate any feedback. Thanks!

No. Vinci are no different to NCP. Not sure which DCA/"solicitor" they use, but expect similar letters. A scam is still a scam.....

Very happy to give feedback - please do some reading of the forum, you'll see it IS a scam:

    http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/forumdisplay.php?f=163

What on earth can possibly be fair about charging an extortionate unrepresentative amount to someone in a car park they don't even own? The charge is in reality a penalty - and that's not lawful from one individual or company to another, not lawful in any contract (signs or no signs). These companies exist to make money and catch people out, not to actually serve any useful purpose whatsoever. It is akin to a protection racket.

Did you miss Watchdog in May - and again last week - when they covered PPC bogus tickets and told people to just make them into paper aeroplanes as they're not real fines? If you did miss this BBC advice about this scam, you'll find links to youtube clips of the programmes in the first few threads you read on the forum link I just gave.

Hi, I was wondering if there was any update on the ticket from vinci Bydnelg? I got caught out today because my ticket had ran out by about 20mins. Was wondering what the best course of action would be? Ignoring it or buckling in and paying it? Money is tight at the moment so I would love to ignore it until it goes away, but would that be the right thing to do?

    Many thanks

Just keep ignoring. It's as simple as that!
