Parking with a expired ticket..

Hi, I'm new to this site and I've used the search function to find any similar threads to my PCCN ticket and couldn't find any so I thought it be best if I started a now thread because I really need some help and advice please on a PCCN Fine (Parking Contravention Charge Notice) please :(

I recently received a parking ticket at a outside NCP car park in Cardiff, the one at Adams Street opposite the Atrium University..

I admit it is my fault for not buying a ticket, but I was in such a rush, had no change and had a very important deadline due in within minutes, so I decided to risk it (not a good move) and go into the university to hand my project in moments before the deadline.. After I handed it in, I had to stay for a crit and I totally forgot about getting change and later on when I went back to my car I got a ticket..

I asked one of my uni friends for a all day ticket which they bought and got one of them and wanted to know what are the chances of my appeal being successful if I showed them that I did have a all day ticket displayed which the parking warden failed to see? Only problem I thought was that they could check on the CCTV at the car park..

I would appreciate any help with this :(

Thanks

  • Private company, ignore it if you want.
  • It's not a fine or a parking ticket, it's an unenforceable invoice. Do not contact them. Ignore them. They will send you lots of pathetic letters, laugh at them. They will go away.

I been fined by them before like last year and I remember I had a red envelope on my windscreen instead of a yellow one like this time which I paid for stupidly.. Wouldn't they have my details in their systems? I just wish I found out about this site sooner because I been fined twice in total.. One for using a expired ticket last year and another time for leaving my car parked in a single yellow line for over 20mins.. :(

Thanks for making the effort to reply and help me out. I appreciated it loads

You have NOT been fined, you have received an invoice. Take the advice here and just ignore them.

That's precisely the idea, to threaten and intimidate as many people as possible into needlessly paying.

I was wondering how do you guys tell if its serious or not serious? If its private or not private just by looking at the tickets? And if it is or is not issued by the council?

Council tickets will mention Road Traffic Act or Traffic Management Act at the top, plus of course the name of the council. Yours merely mentions breaches of NCP's own conditions, not a single reference to any actual law.
  • They deliberately use the term PCCN to convince you its an official council PCN. Very sneaky and misleading.
I'd rather be an Optimist and be proved wrong than a Pessimist and be proved right.
