went to tescos this afternoon and tried to use a few vouchers. The lady said there is now a new policy.
1 voucher if not buying product and any other vouchers you have to buy the item.
I said "well thats strange cause i was in on friday and used quite a few."
She said its just started this last few days and there will be posters up as from monday.
Looks like i'll be doing my shopping in netto and aldi from now on!
Has anyone else heard this?

This kind of thing has happened regularly over the last 25 years the outcome is always the same, at first it is adhered to until a manager or regional manager finds it hard to meet a sales target and then Pow! lets get the coupons back in. No need to worry unduly.Four guns yet only one trigger prepare for a volley.Together we can make a difference.0 -
Yes, I agree. Our Tesco has just clamped down to 10%, as have Asda. They have done this in the past and then after a couple of month it is back to business as usual.
Just sort your coupons into 'use by dates', use those that are due to expire for now and save them up until the policy is a little easier which will probably take a month or so.
If you are on a very tight budget then try shopping around at different supermarkets (small shops) until you find one that will accept your coupons. I find that shopping in more affluent areas is more successful.
As a last resort I will go to our local Waitrose who I know will accept a max of 50% off manufacturers coupons.0 -
I used some vouchers today. Handed over the usual 5 to the nice 'young' Saturday/Sunday lad and he scanned them no problem. I did ask if he could take any more and he said sorry no only allowed 5.
Looks like the rules still vary from store to store.0 -
I have been using coupons at Asda for the last few months. On Friday my usual cashier said they'd been told that morning not to take any more coupons.
I found the manager who told me they now take only 10%, he gave me £6.50 back at CS desk on my shop.
I said I'd ring head office when I got home and did. they said there isn't a change in policy, so I wrote to them via snail mail, to make sure I get a hard copy of the rules (Again!), to show to the store manager.
I've been using them nicely for ages, this not taking them business comes up occasionally. I hope my reply comes back soon.

I've been at work (Tesco) all day and have not been told not to accept any vouchers, infact I used 6 pound in vouchers to pay for a 7 pound spend yesterday. Im there all day tomorrow, Ill keep my ears pealed. Alternatively it could be a regional thing, Im in Cheshire, if that is any help.

My Tesco stores have been only accepting 1 voucher per shop if you havent bought the product for at least a year, so I guess you have been lucky up till now. Guess it depends on the manager as much as anything.0

interesting posts guys!
I'm having much more trouble using coupons at Tescos lately so have taken to keeping one coupon at the front of my pile for £2 or more if poss and if they only take one get them to take that one, given a chance they will put through a 10p one and say that's the coupon!
also sonetimnes put 2 lots of shopping through one for mum both with one high value coupon for each but will change to Lidl if they stop coupons altogether as much quicker to shop there!0
