Warning - New Clydesdale Bank MasterCard Debit Cards

Well, still no replacement card so rang up and yes it's on the way, but I'm told I'm getting a Maestro card, so in a way relieved.
They must be keeping the new Mastercard debit for full account holders!0 -
Well my new card arrived today! It's still a Maestro, but now with just 16 digits (no longer 19) and the issue number has gone.
But no need to go through any activation service, so do they think because it's attached to a Readycash a/c they think we're not worth the extra security:o
I've had quite a bit of dosh on that card too, 2 tier customer service.0 -

i wonder whether you'll have problems because of the fewer digits0 -
I have a 16 digit Maestro card with no issue number from Northern and I have had no problems online or in shops0

I received a new clydesdale bank debit mastercard 2 weeks ago, today I received my monthly bank statement to see that all transactions in shops had an added charge of £1.50 every time I used my debit card. I phoned Clydesdale Customer Service and was informed that they knew of the problem and were looking into it and the problem was with Mastercard not getting their customers to update their systems and the bank would eventually reimburse me. If this happens with all customers someone is going to be holding a lot of our money and benefitting from it.0

i have been trying to make acouple of online purcheses over the last week using my yb maestro card. they would not go through even though i have been using this method for years and last purchase about 3 weeks ago. the sites kept prompting me on the mastercard secure code but everytime i entered my card number it would not go any further saying card number is incorrect to register this card. as they have been pretty late on at night i couldnt be bothered to ring cust services so switched to using my yb savings account maestro card{maestro cash card} this also would not go through unless i registered the card but this time this card went through straight away at the registering stage.I have yesterday recieved my new mastercard debit and thought i would register straight away but once again i can not get passed the registering stage just keeps saying number not registered. rang cust services who told me there is a problem with firewall on my security and this is why it wont let me register but yet my savings card went through no problem with the same security. like i said early only had this problem this last week or so with my maestro card not allowing me to pay bills or buy online , going to use my mastercard debit today to purchase in shops after reading this forum cant wait to see what problems i face best take some extra cards with me0

Looks like I have been hit with a £2.50 charge from using the card at an another bank's ATM so it seems not all ATMs have been reprogrammed to accept these cards as debit cards quite yet. In fact looking at my statement that ATM in question seems to have thought my card was foreign.
Fortunately none of my in-store purchases (including cash back) have had any problems (yet).0
