I know from our business that having too many people selling the same thing is a bad thing. No-one wins as everyone has to strive to compete.
It's nothing personal, it's just good sense.
I'll let you all know what private sales go well though in case you can get hold of any, and anything else I can think of.
Ah yes, I do see your point. But, with the number of people on here (although for a forum of course, its quite big) it probably won't make a difference to anyones overall sales in the short or long term. And the number of people who find it interesting enough to actually make money selling or who'll go out and do it themselves is probably even slimmer.
But i'm not going to blame anyone for trying to keep their niche market niche! I'd just like to know of course hehe :T'It is better to live your own destiny imperfectly than to live an imitation of somebody else's life with perfection' Elizabeth Gilbert.

I am really, really, happy... and this thread has kept me going : )
I was going to say that interparcel are really good couriers if anyone is looking for a good ebay courier, I found them through MSE.
I really wanted to go to the Orla Kiely sale, but the ice is putting me off! I'll have to see how I feel on the morrow.10K 2010 challenge £3202.59/£10000

Well i had 1/2 a eureka moment today
I finished reading this thread in its entirety yesterday, went to sleep wondering what my 'niche' 'passion' and 'purpose' was. Then this morning, someone brought over to me a brochure that completely pertains to my current passion (cookery) and involves a sales element!! Now, on any 'normal' day i would not read anything into this, however today i've seen this as an opportunity - that's where the 1/2 comes into it
I'm not quite sure where to go with this but think it's a sign, or i'm going to take it as a sign anyway! So, procrastination over! Watch this space (maybe...i'll get back to you when i get started
) Keep up the good work folks xxx

DEfinitely a sign !! This is what they say about cosmic ordering. When you tap into realising what you actually like/love/want/desire, you are more open to spot the opportunities when they come your way.
Last week you may have ignored the opportunity - today you realised the relevance.
You have completed half the challenge just by realising this
Well done

Lol- know what you mean! It's only when you look at all the names signed on at the bottom of the page that it sinks in!
I have spent my £100 (arghh) but due to snow nothings turned up yet, will have mega listing to do when it turns up! Will be a bit more complicated working out what I've made ( hopefully there will be something) as the OH has also put £100 into stock as we are hoping that I will be able to give up my part-time job to work from home.
Quick background to save writing lots of posts and annoying people- I have my own business making wedding jewellery which is still in infancy, work part time in a craft shop . Was hoping to do the jewellery fulltime and give up part time job but not enough coming in.
Have been signed off from job since November after starting having panic attacks/ depression. Now am hoping that this new venture will enable me not to return to work. Just need the courage to hand my notice in.
Ok will stop waffling now!0 -
