ok, a couple of jobs done, have registered with greenmetropolis and listed first 2 books, if they do sell for £2.50 or £3.00 (after i pay postage from it) about the same as ebay just with no fees :)

registered with gumtree.co.uk and dug out my rucksack i want to try and sell on their, unfortunately as it has been stuck ina cupboard it seems at some point my cat decided it was a comfy bed

so have now cleaned it up off any unwanted cat hairs (otherwise i would have to charge extra for them of course, lol) and now looks pretty respectable so going to try and list it tomorrow :)
Thanks to all who post comps :T

Oh as for the OH issue - i can see benefits all round in keeping it a secret! If i tell OH, his negativity will defeat this challenge for me. If i don't tell OH, i can decide whether to share my 10k with him or not :) power to me haha
    Just £10,852.28p to go...

    :D

    Trust that little voice in your head that says "Wouldn't it be interesting if...";
    And then do it.

£30 win on BB tonight, some of it wasted along with a lot of time on BJ etc!! £20 used to purchase stock.

Loving this thread and hoping I have found myself a little niche. Made my first mistake though - spent £30 on fakes but hoping Paypal will help me get my money back. A couple of sleepless nights later I reckon I will just have to put it down to experience.....and learn to be more thorough when buying things instead of just jumping right in!

Right...off to see how much Paypal will take off me if I sell my stuff on Ebay!

Absolutely loved the pillow case dresses by the way!! What a fab idea. If there is any on Ebay this summer you can PM me a link for my little girl. :j

Does anyone else do Pureprofile surveys? There's been quite a lot of surveys this last couple of weeks (7?). You have just to log on and keep checking. I don't think they need to send out emails any more!

paypal charge 20 per transaction and then 3.4% of total costs

ebay charge varying amounts for listing, free up to 99p, 15p £1.00 to £4.99 25p £5.00 to £14.99 etc and then charge a final value fee of 10% (of course look out for those free listing days) :)

For those of you who've got your own websites, dont forget money you can make from advertising on them! Sorry its not something I know an awful lot about but I have seen posts about it on the Up Your Income thread in the past so may be worth a search?
Yes Plus Once tax registered you can claim back Expenditure from advertising your own business, anything from leaflets, ads in papers/online an even simple clothing that has your business name on, even the cost for having an item (of simple clothing) labeled or printed on! But you dont get the money in hand, it goes of the next tax bill

Same goes for things you have bought purposely for the business, i.e laptop, software, vehicle, Uniforms etc

Thanks for that Kosma1. I haven't seen a free listing day for ages, are they quite regular?

Haven't even gotten started yet! Going to head up to my nanas on Sunday, clear out my old room and ebay all my rubbish to get started. Also dug out my sewing machine in anticipation of hopefully making some stuff to sell later on in the year!
